I think "moving lures" are a better option in the fall. Specifically, Rage Blade with a Structure Bug or Cut-R trailer. Right now topwater (Zara Spook) and jerkbaits (LC Pointer and Megabass Ito Vision 110) are both RED HOT!

Use to be a favorite until I found Yo-Zuri Hybrid. P-Line just has too much memory for me, especially in cold weather. An alternative might be using a braid for mainline and a long P-Line leader.

Long casts and long lining, especially with crankbaits and the Alabama Rig. Although I have a high appreciation for accuracy in general, it's not really that important for river fishing other than keeping it out of the trees!
