InvizX is the better choice for spinning tackle. I recommend #8, .009" diameter, the same as Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4. The line is very managable, strong and abrassion resistant. AbrazX is for baitcasting gear. I use #12 without any issues.

I have been very pleased with Cabela's Guidewear. In this part of the country, the uninsulated version is the ticket.

Hmm... Stability will be an issue with any deck. The Bimini will be gone if you ever bring a friend.

Another suggestion: Dip some of the tails in JJ's Magic, chartreuse.

I think you mean "feet" not "yards". An average cast is 25-30 yards.

1. Engage 4 brakes 2. Tighten cast control, then loosen up a bit as you gain confidence 3. Hesitate momentarily on the backswing as the rod loads, then follow through smoothly without "flicking" the tip 4. Rotate your wrist during the cast so that the spool faces inwards, across your body 5. With your thumb, stop the line just before the lure hits the water 6. Practice with 1/2-3/4 oz weights or aerodynamic lures (lipless cranks) 7. Don't focus on accurancy until you gain a better feel for casting

You are not rigging them properly. Use a 1/4 oz weighted 4/0 offset worm hook. Make sure the bait is not bowed. :reindeer:

I really think you should vary it up and fish some different lakes and rivers. Some water is just more productive than others.

I hate braid, but I have it spooled on my dedicated jig rig and tie direct. Braided line has improved my jig fishing SIGNIFICANTLY.

Barometric pressure has no impact on river fish. It's all about water release and current. On a river stable or rising water is key. When water falls, regardless of the absolute level, the bite ends.

Man, those are some fine brown fish!

My advice is to fish the river, it's red hot!

I have a lot of jigs, collecting them is my main hobby! I'm trying to fish a number of colors, especially the Big O Falcon. Green and green/ pumpkin have been very good, I like the subtle addition of purple, too, Several custom orders are for batches of black/ orange and black/ orange/ red have been HOT! However, I'm still mostly Black & Blue.

Fishing Rhino, Nothing was directed at you my friend. You saw the posts that were deleted and my comments were directed there, not towards you. I think this thread has been enlightening, at least for me. My wife just doesn't care, which has been fine by me. However, the suggestion of bringing her into that part of my life appeals to me, especially now that we have recently become "empty nesters".

I'm having fun, but there is no need to be nasty. So a couple of posts have magically disappeared.
