A couple of the Pros at a class Nashville addressed the issue of using fluorocarbon with jerkbaits and topwater. The point they made is that you are defeating the fundamental design for both lure classes. 8-)

Ande is IGFA certified meaning the rating is the breaking strength. Many lines, like Yo-Zuri, are labeled for line diameter, not strength. For example, Hybrid #6 has a diameter of.010", the same as Ande. However, Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 has a breaking strength of 11.9 lbs according to their website. P-Line CXX is about 40% stronger than the labeling indicates, i.e., #10 ~ 14 lb test. Even this comparison with Ande is inconsistant. Hybrid #12 is thinner than Ande (.013" vs .014"). For lack of a better choice, I consider Ande the "standard". 8-)

Geez.... Recently bought a Symetre 500FJ around $100 for an ultra lite. You can find the 2500FJ for about the same price. Nothin' to talk about! Strong, smooth, silent and reliant. Probably not a Flooger... :

Just waiting in the shadows for Burleytog to post... Spinning: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft Baitcasting: #12 Hybrid BTW...The cost is low, give the CXX a try too. I fished P-Line for several years before switching to Yo-Zuri. You might like the P-Line CXX better! 8-)

Bring 'em with you to Kentucky Lake. I'll bet those bass haven't seen many large swimbaits. Maybe that's the ticket! 8-)

Haven't been over to Pickwick in a few weeks, but in December we were on a topwater and jerkbait bite, big time! Green fish and brown. 8-)

Never been around anyone like that nor ever even heard a story about someone asking a guest to be responsible for repairs. I'll suggest a few simple solutions: If you are having a sandwich for lunch, make two. Offer your boater $20 for gas which he will probably turn down. If you have plans for multiple outings, discuss the arrangements beforehand. Talking a little business before getting started goes a long way. p.s. On a personal note, as a non-boater I try to pay my way overall, but I fish with a lot of different guys. So, maybe every guy doesn't get an even split, but it comes out pretty close over time. 8-)
