Well actually, I don't have shoes and a purse to match! Seriously though, I bet the rod will be great for a variety of swimbaits or maybe as a flippin' stick. It's just too much for anything I fish. 8-)

I'll see what I can find out about the shad situation, but I tried it last year during the kill and couldn't buy a bite! I'll talk with some friends and report back later today. -Kent

Sounds like a lot of "attitude" to me. Probably won't be invited again... I fish with several guys, some a lot, a couple once or twice. Sharing expenses comes in a number of ways. Breakfast, lunch or dinner; bait or gas. Maybe if I were fishing tournaments a more formal arrangement would be in order. To me, the perfect solution is when the money "comes out in the wash" and no one feels they have been taken advantage of. 8-)

There is some great advice from many members in this section. You could spend days reading through the back pages. You will gain quite a bit of insight on what sponsors are looking for, how to promote yourself and write an effective resume. 8-)

CAdeltaLipRipper, Why wouldn't you believe these guys that regularly catch huge smallmouth? Especially since you haven't caught many and don't really target the species. I don't understand your point.

Hmm... Seems kinda silly to be dissing a bait that has probably won more amateur tournaments in the last ten years than all other lures combined. If there has ever been a MAGIC bait, it's the Senko. 8-)

A little more than a year ago I bought a pair of Danner Boots from Sportsman's Warehouse as they were closing down a local store. Technically the boots are warranted for a year and exchange is required through the retailer. To make a long story short, Danner exchanged a pair for me without hassel. I'm glad Pure Fishing has made you happy, but that's no reason to take a jab at "Big S". Shimano has provided me with outstanding customer service on the rare occasion it's needed. If you have had to replace 10 Abu Garcia reels in the past few years, I would consider another brand. I haven't had to ask for a replacemnt from Shimano... ever. :

Try these and see what YOU think: Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft; P-Line CXX; Izorline. The cost is low, so if you don't like one just toss it away! I have tested a lot of brands over the past year or so and still find Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft to be favorites. However, if price is not a concern, Tatsu is THE BOMB! 8-)

15 days? The rod is under warranty, have it replaced. G.Loomis is among the best for customer service. As for "horrible eyelets" you might be alone with that opinion. I have a few G. Loomis rods and consider the components top notch, even innovative in many instances. Recoil guides are a case in point. :

No, the lure is not designed to fish live bait. The picture is an example of what often happens: baitfish get snagged. The Gay Blade creates a lot of disturbance in the water which contributes to its success. 8-)
