  2. J you can also just shoot to wing someone. You can also shoot to just to scare people. Before you consider carrying a gun, I STRONGLY suggest attending a class for handling weapons and self defense. Shooting to wing someone is just for dramatic effect in the movies, not real life. :
  3. That a beauty! Nice story & pics, too! 8-)
  4. Nice fish, story & pic! 8-)
  5. May 1 -2 we had between 13 and 18" of rain throughout much of the Mid South. Pickwick rose 9'. The fishing was fabulous! Most fish either moved up to maintain 10-20' depth or held near the first break off points, rip-rap and gravel bars. Our guys caught big bass, both green and brown, including three PBs! Our average catch was around 30-40 fish, but some boats reported 100+. More details are posted on the Roadtrip thread if you are interested. 8-)

  8. You might consider the MBR842C. It's a match made in heaven! 8-)
  9. If your previous experience has been poor (crappy guides, etc.), why go back for more? There are plenty of great alternatives to choose from in that price range. :-?
  10. Hmm... Definitely the wrong choice of equipment. The general suggestion would be "bass gear". My main set-up is a 7' MF rod, 2500 series spinning reel and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 for live bait and soft plastics. For hard baits, 6 1/2' MF baitcaster with a soft tip (Avid AVC66MF), CH50MG and #12 Hybrid. 8-)
  11. General differences: Smallmouth tend to relate to structure. Largemouth seem to prefer cover. In rivers and streams, brown fish like current and breaks; green fish prefer still water. Lures are the same, it's location that dominates. 8-)
  12. Like any other shaky head jig, they hang up in wood. However, they can be rigged weedless and don't hang too much in rock. When they do, if you get right over the jig, or sometimes behind it, 90% can be freed. What I really like about Bobby's Shak-E2 (both styles) is the way they stand up. My #1 presentation has been rigged with a 6 1/2" Kut Tail. This year it will probably be a Rage Tail Lobster. 8-)
  13. I think it depends on where you fish and who you are fishing with. This is a typical post by Dwight: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1274298524 8-)
  14. Just what several guys were asking for. The Pro Series is a great addition to the MegaStrike line-up!

  17. Cabela's Guidewear is THE BOMB! 8-)
  18. St. Croix Avid Beyond the high quality components and craftsmanship, you will not break these rods "fishing". 8-)
  19. That's a beauty!

  23. I have a Dobyns 683C. If you like split grips, this would be the perfect "all-around" rod. Mine is matched up with a CH50MG which balances perfectly. 8-)
