Hmm... Rule #1: What happens at the river stays at the river... Okay, the truth is I REALLY liked Gary's Fuego. In addition to it's highly acclaimed standard features, this particular reel was super tuned, including hand polished gears. The performance of the reel was a dead solid 10! Oh! BTW... G. Loomis earned their reputation starting with the IMX series. I think there are better options at the Mossyback pricing point. Specifically, I would suggest looking to the St. Croix Avid. 8-)

Hmm... Anyone who has met Big O walks away with a smile. He represents the finest aspects of the sport. A gentleman in every way as well as a very successful businessman. 8-)

Specifically, Stradic 2500 CI4 if that is in your price range. Otherwise, the Stradic 2500 FI. For line, I recommend Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6. This line has a breaking strength of ~11.9 lbs. 8-)

When you detect ANYTHING DIFFERENT, lower your rod tip as you reel down QUICKLY. Snap your wrist to raise the rod tip aggressively without moving the position of your hands relative to your body: All of your power is transferred by the rod. NEVER double set the hook...NEVER! 8-)

I prefer spinning tackle for Senkos, but my dedicated rod for weighted soft plastics is the MBR844C. If you are set on the BCR, I would recommend the 854. However, for a lot more fun, check out the MBR842C. 8-)

I have both the Curado 200E7 and Revo STX. After some time on the water, I suspect you with favor one over the other. 8-)

Rage Tail products have eclipsed GYCB as MY FAVORITE BAITS! For the most part they have unique design and available color combinations personally designed by Steve Parks (Big O). The action of the baits is incredible and the packaging designed to protect the appendages that produce this action. I am totally impressed with Rage Tail baits. More importantly than appearance is effectiveness. I have been VERY successful with these baits. Everyone (else) I know says the same, both publicly and privately. Rage Tail rocks!

I would go with the 1000 on that rod, but you should really saddle them both up to see which YOU prefer. 8-)

Yo-Zuri floats and the original Hybrid in green matches clear water very closely. Strong, abrasion resistant, no special knots and relatively cheap. I think you will like the line. 8-)

This spring the operative phrase has been: "Anything Rage Tail". Smaller baits (Baby Craw and Rage Lizard) fished on and around structure. Generally, in 10-20' of water. Also, lipless cranks, especially the Stike King Red Eyed Shad. Now, topwater in lowlight: 3/8 oz Cavitron Buzzbait, Sammy, Spook, Pop-R and Pop-Max. Otherwise, bigger soft plastics (Anaconda, Rage Hawg, Thumper and Kut Tail on a Shak-e2). Coming soon, DT16, DD22, 3/4 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade, Mizmo 5.5" Grandes, Smokin' Rooster, Eeliminator and GMAN Mop jig/ Lobster. Also in the mix, the new MegaStrike spinnerbaits. What's in your bag of tricks? 8-)

My son wears them. Says they are a combination of being barefoot with support and protection. Very comfortable and a "must have" if you are vacationing on Pandora this summer. :

Same replies, at least three times a week, every week. The answers, in alphabetical order: Abu Garcia, BPS, Cabela's, Daiwa, Okuma, Pflueger, Quantum, Shakespear, Shimano, US Reel, Zebco and some others. Best price? Around $20 for a Wal-Mart combo or a $600 reel matched to a $500 rod. My suggestion for "Best Value" might be a big retailer's in-house combo on sale ~ $150. Best line? Same story, one of many... For my money: Shimano reels; G. Loomis and St. Croix rods; Yo-Zuri Hybrid line; Gamakatsu hooks and Toyota SUVs! To answer the original question: I recommend the Curado 200E7. :
