  1. Tom and I found the biggest fish (largemouth) relating to shade and heavy cover in less than 3' of water with Pickwick flooded last week. In six hours of flipping over a two day period, we probably caught over 50 fish, mostly 3-4 lbs. ;D ;D ;D
  2. Always, quality over quantity. Here ya go: Maybe this will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 Specifically: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures) 8-)
  3. 3/8 oz Cavitron, black on black. http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/Cavitron-Lure-BuzzBaits/ 8-)
  4. Well said! Try a tube of MegaStrike for yourself. I think you will be surprised at how effective the product is. As a bonus, MegaStrike is very user friendly. 8-)
  5. We had some challenges with storms on Saturday and Sunday, but the weather didn't stop Big O, Brian and Joe from getting in the mix! Most of our group arrived later and started fishing on Monday. Saturday night Gary (ghoti) and his lovely wife Mary hosted the welcoming party which repeated on Sunday evening with wine & cheese. Everyone caught fish, some caught over 100 a day. Fred caught the biggest smallmouth (6-3) with Rhino (Tom) close behind (6.0). Uncle Leo lead the pack with a 5-8 largemouth. As Big O has already posted, PBs by Joe and Brian, back-to-back! Dinners were casual and impromptu. Fred and Leo provided a spiral ham for everyone one night, we grilled burgers another. Big O capped off the event with Rage Tail gifts, including hats, packaged baits and tons of Baby Craws. Great time had by all. ;D ;D ;D
  6. Nice pics! Fred and Leo make a perfect team. Outstanding fisherman, gentlemen, and GREAT guys. In addition to their best days on the water, they provided a spiral ham dinner one night for the entire gang... And it was grand!
  7. WOW!
  8. Rage Tail Thumper http://www.ragetail.com/news/10/the-rage-tail-thumper-a-10-inchplatic-worm-with-more/ I trim the curly tail along the dotted line you will see on the bait. 8-)
  9. State Park Inn http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/PickwickLanding/ We have a room reserved. If you are drinking beer or whiskey, bring your own and be discrete. We are serving wine & cheese at the party. -Kent
  10. 7' or longer; MH or H; Fast Action is my suggestion. 8-)
  11. Your understanding is what I was trying to describe. I fish the Slug-Go either weightless (shallow) or on a drop shot rig (deep). 8-)
  12. Small baits, like a Swimming Senko, are very similar. SPEADBEAD fishes REAL swimbaits which have nothing in common with flukes. I fish Slug-Gos (the original "fluke") without moving it forward. Picture a feeding minnow. The Swimming Senko like baits are fished with a variety of retrieves, but the "action" is in the tail. These baits are fished "cast and retrieve", not stationary. 8-)
  13. Oooh............. Might be my favorite rig! The Roboworm weighs about the same as a Senko. You can cast it weightless if you like. Otherwise, I suggest 3/8 oz Shak-E2. 8-)
  14. BassResource.com Roadtrip at Pickwick! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

  18. Doesn't matter, they are both great baits! 8-)

  20. SALUTE! Congratulations.
  21. PM sent, magazine to follow. -Kent
  22. There is a new brown trout record set in Michigan: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/58634057.html The previous record, which was "caught" on the Little Red River in Arkansas, is the one Paul was referring to. Without going into all the details, the fish was planted. Broodstock-->White River (electroshock)-->Red River. Amazingly the trout was caught right next to a new resort/ housing complex owned by "well connected" investors.
  23. I have both. The CH50MG is one of the "Classic Reels" of all time. The STX is just another reel. 8-)
