  1. Double Wide Sweet Beaver. The bait skips well, too! 8-)
  2. WOW! Great Post
  3. Here ya go: Maybe this will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 Specifically: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures) 8-)
  4. Geez... Those are some oinkers, fer-sure!
  5. Well, the ones you guys are catching are beauties! You have set the bar pretty high. I'm sure you'll soon report a day of both numbers and size. Livin' the dream! 8-)
  6. Megabass PopMax http://www.bestcovery.com/megabass-popmax-topwater-popper-lure?whybest=3&best=66506 http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmbpopmax.html http://www.***.com/descpageMEGABTOP-MBPM.html 8-)
  7. The "real deal" doesn't compete very well with the "real thing". These are some lures/ baits that I would recommend: Hard baits: Zara Spook and LC Sammy 100; Bandit 200 and 300; small Wiggle Warts; LC Pointer 100 and Rapala X-Rap (XR08) in clear water and low light; Swarming Hornet / LFT Magic Live Shad trailer; DD22 and 3/4 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade for deeper water. Soft plastics: Rage Tail Craw, Baby Craw, Rage Hawg, Eeliminator and Lizard. In shallow water, Swimming Senko, Fat Ika and 5" Senko. 8-)
  8. P.S. I'm not positive, but I think I bought one or both of these rods and maybe one of the Core from Bronzefly. When you decide what you want, check with him and maybe he can help. -Kent
  9. With great respect for Bronzefly's opinion, I disagree... Although the MBR842 has become my favorite rod (matched with a Core 50MG7), I think the PR844C is a better choice for medium and light weight treble hooks. The PR844C loads up and casts even light lures (Bandit 200) a country mile. The soft tip is also extremely valuable during the fight. The MBR842C is a MUCH better "all-around" rod, but if you are looking for something technique specific, the PR844C is the ticket. Mine is matched with a Core 100MG7. 8-)
  10. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  11. To paraphrase Big O, "When the fishing is good, the right color will make it better!" I have always considered color at the bottom of the list of variables. However, after fishing around Big O, I realized that is not always the case. :
  12. Is Cherokee clearer than other TVA impoundments? It sure looks nice in your pics. 8-)
  13. Although the Eeliminator is a versatile bait, it REALLY shines on a C-rig. ;D ;D
  14. Hint: You might like the Baby Craw, too!
  15. GYCB Swimming Senko Keitech Swim Impact Fat 4.8" 8-)
  16. Move to deeper water. Ledges, breaks, humps, rock piles and boulders. The bigger fish are probably deeper. 8-)
  17. That's a fatty. Nice pic, too!
  18. 1. Location, location, location. 2. Fishing too shallow, too much 3. Fishing too fast 4. Not being able to recognize structure and cover 5. Shoddy or cheap gear, especially line and hooks 6. Ignoring natures clues: especially baitfish and birds 7. Poor techniques, both presentation and hook-up 8. Trying too be "versatile" before mastering basic skills 9. Moving too often 10. Changing lures too often 8-)
  19. You can't go wrong either way. My main spinning rod for soft plastics is a Legend Elite 70MF. I am VERY happy with this rod. 8-)
  20. Striper are on fire below Pickwick Dam. The bass, both green and brown, are still red hot on the lake. 8-)
  21. 80 yards or so is all the fresh line you need to replace. It's actually more than you really "need", but I never like to feel the knot. 8-)

    MegaStrike Shak-E2 Pro Series http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/Pro-Series-Shakey-Head-Jigs---Black.html 8-)
  23. Drive him crazy, make him fish "real" Senkos! ;D ;D ;D ;D
