  1. Just about any reel impresses right out of the box. The true test comes with time on the water. Some equipment is "disposable", some will last a lifetime. 8-)
  2. Whoa! I just talked to him earlier this week. Better give him another call.
  3. Different strokes for different folks. I consider the Curado 200E7 to be one of the best reels I own and "Best Value" by far. Back on topic...The Revo STX is built like a tank. I suspect it will last forever. 8-)
  4. Yep, 3/4 oz GMAN Mop jig/ Rage Tail Lobster. I also agree with your breakdown of the choice: Jigs hang up much more often than a weedless T-rig. Both presentations areVERY similar. 8-)
  5. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  6. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  7. You can start with this, but check out "Tacklebox" and "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1189609782 8-)
  8. Where: Gravel bars, the first and second break off the bars; primary points; humps, ledges, boulders and rock piles; mussel beds and any isolated hard bottom; bluffs against the wall and follow it down. Tackle: Rage Tail Baby Craw, T-rigged (no jig); RT Eeliminator and Lizard, C-rigged; Strike King Red Eyed Shad with a little chartreuse; Swarming Hornet, LFT Live Magic Shad trailer; Ledgebuster 3/4 oz Single Willow Blade Spinnerbait (chartreuse); 4" Slug-Go on a dropshot rig and Keiteck Fat Swim Impact 4.8" or GYCB Swimming Senko. If the water is clear, Lucky Craft Pointers, Sebile Koolie Minnow and Megabass Ito Vision 110. Fred caught a 6-3 lb smallmouth last week at Pickwick on a Bandit 300. He caught many more on the same lure! p.s. Kentucky Lake is known as a "blue" lake. Maybe it's the water, but blues and purples are favored colors for soft plastics.
  9. I'm with Crestliner2008. Once I discovered the internal weights, they are all I use. 8-)
  10. St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF if you can find it on sale. Otherwise, it's $180. 8-)
  11. Those are beauties. CONGRATULATIONS!
  12. Congratulations! 8-)
  13. Didn't mean it that way...In fact, I recently bought a IMX MBR784C as a dedicated striper rod. For moving baits especially, the IMX is the ticket. 8-)
  14. The biggest issue with the IMX is wishing you had bought the GLX. :

  17. Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft treated with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner 8-)
  18. Ask Mary. Women know the "cool" names of all those colors, but it's not pink. 8-)
  19. My fishing partner guides and I am not aware of any licensing requirement in Tennessee. Also, I see nothing listed on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency website.
