  1. You can fish grubs T-rigged (unpegged) and weedless. This rig is just as effective as the standard jig head presentation. As an aside, I prefer single tail grubs. I think they resemble baitfish better than twin tails. I use the twin tail grubs for jig trailers to imitate crawdads. 8-)
  2. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  3. Amazing information that I have never heard. Great post Roger!
  4. Otherwise, if he is like me, a kit would suck. More importantly, the components probably don't compare to name brand spinnerbaits. As suggested earlier, the 3/4 oz Ledgebuster is the BOMB!
  5. Thank you Wayne. Long Mike and I will not be participating in "grain". He likes grapes, and in May, I like juniper berries. :

  7. Nice pic! I reminds me of Colorado, too! 8-)
  8. Gift card... Otherwise, this is something he might not have: 3/4 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade, solid white skirt, silver blade. Buy two, all fishermen "need" two of everything! 8-)
  9. The Zara Spook is "classic". 8-)
  10. Most (all) of this gear has probably been accumulated over the years. Speaking for myself, some of my stuff was purchased in 1997. I don't trade and generally pick up a rig or two a year, not all at once. My theory is like Warren Buffet's investment goals: "Buy and hold forever." And this is something I have often stated: You only "need" three rigs: 1. Spinning combo for weightless soft plastics and light lures. My suggestion is 6 1/2' or 7' MF. 2. Baitcaster for "treble hooks". 6 1/2' MHM. 3. Baitcaster for weighted soft plastics and jigs. 7' MHF or 7' HF. ;D ;D ;D
  11. The IMX series is where G. Loomis really shines. GLX is a series that stands alone, at least in the domestic market. Is the additional cost worth it? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how important another $100 is to you. To expand on Steezy's comments, unless you lose your Loomis, you have a rod for a lifetime! Their customer service is second to none. 8-)

  13. I don't have any bling-bling, my rigs look more like guns. Anyhow, here's my list: Spinning G. Also, a BCR893 to go with it! 8-)
  14. I dont think so. I think Alabama rolls easily. Texas should've beat Nebraska easily If the Horns play like that against Bama (who can score, unlike Nebraska)....Texas is toast early. As someone else said, "Alabama brought their A game". The BCS Championship is just one game, either team can win. However, even as a Big 12 fan, Alabama has the edge. :-/
  15. You guys need a few shot of Dewars... This show ROCKED!
  16. Ding! Ding! Ding! You got it goin' on! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  17. Real men can do pink! That reel is beautiful, but a "collectors item" only. ;D ;D ;D
  18. I wear cotton gloves while motoring, but not when fishing. If I have to wear gloves to fish, I need to be at the house sipping on some whiskey. 8-)
  19. Yep... Collect specialty reels after you already own everything you "need". 8-)
  20. Not really necessary. You can learn about the entire structure fishing contact lures when the ice clears. A few acres are easy to learn, my ponds are +/- 10 and I know them VERY well. More importantly, in ponds the big bass have to search for food. Surprisingly, nearly every inch of shoreline may be productive at times. Fishing away from the bank, out 10-20 yards, can yield big results, too! 8-)
  21. It took the State of Tennessee 28 years to execute this POS last week: http://www.prodeathpenalty.com/Pending/09/dec09.htm >
  22. If you want to save some money, consider the Curado 200E7. With a little shopping you should find a NIB for +/- $150. This reel is comparable to much higher priced Shimanos, both domestic and JDM. 8-)
