My Chargers look GOOOOD!!
Hat's off to the Raiders...that doesn't happen to often at Mile High. As for the Chargers...when they're hot, they're HOT! Division Champions, congratulations!

AVATAR the movie
Everyone will find it entertaining. The "evil corporate greed" is just background noise. If you want to seek "deeper meaning" there's that opportunity, too. However, I sat back, accepted the premise and enjoyed the ride. I saw AVATAR with two other men and all three of us gave it two thumbs up. One comment that kind of sums it up, "I'd like to go back to that planet, the real world looks so dull."

All Purpose Rod
I have bought a couple GLX this year for +/- $250. The MBR 842, 843 or 844 will work just fine for your "all around" rod when one pops up in the Flea Market.

AVATAR the movie
Just got back from the show...AWESOME! For sci-fi fans, maybe the all-time best. For everyone, else...totally entertaining! You HAVE TO see this movie at the theater in 3-D. It will just blow you away. Fantasia on steroids!

slug-go help
31 degrees, 15-20 mph and spitting rain around here, but I was at a local pond before sunrise! Following Crestliner2008's advice resulted in three 5+ and two 3-4 lbs. Woo-Hoo! Thank you! -Kent

Free hooks
Save money somewhere else, hooks are the most important equipment a fisherman has. Tru Turnhooks are made with low grade wire, poorly sharpened, often defective, and break easily. The total lack of quality control is a clear warning to avoid this name. A statement that someone has caught a fish on them means very little or nothing. And BTW bilgerat, what's up with the attitude? I quoted you. You already knew these hooks suck. Why imply they are "just fine" when you know they are not?

any suggestions on how to identify some lures...

Taking care of reels
The rule of thumb is a thorough cleaning and lube once a year, but lots of guys do it more often and many get by for several years without service. Pick your poison!

Winter Smallmouth
The split shot is placed 18"-24" above the hook. I fish the Tennessee River. The weight is used to maintain contact with the bottom. The perfect drift has the weight occasionally ticking the rocks.

How old? rod.
If you are using the old rod to fish "moving" lures, I don't think it makes much difference. However, you need a new rod for jigs and soft plastics. Today's technology makes old rods obsolete.

Curado 200E7 - weightless performance?
This ranks as one of Shimano's finest reels. "Best Value" at the pricing point. Retail is $179, but I have recently bought one for ~$150 on our Flea Market.

Best setup for Spinnerbaits???
No. All single hook techniques require a firm tip. Treble hook lures require a soft tip.
