What are the advantages of these spools? Throwing lighter lures?

I fish a 3100 acre lake with a 10’ Pond Prowler. I stay back in the creek though from May to September to avoid the wake from all the boats. I don’t mind riding out the occasional wake but having to stop fishing every few minutes every time a boat goes by gets old fast.

I live in central Virginia as well and I just started winter fishing last winter. As long as there's no ice on the lake I'll go. I have a lot of slow frustrating days but some days are somewhat productive. It beats staying home.

Anyone use Smackdown braid? TW has it on sale right right now and I’m thinking about trying it. I’m not a big fan of braid but all I’ve ever used is power pro.

I'd go with a Walmart group 29 battery . $100. Less than 20 bucks for a battery box and circuit breaker. Find a decent charger , then you're good to go.

No the other SPRO squarebills are designed to hunt. Not the little john. Something's wrong with it if it's running sideways, like others have suggested try tuning it. The little john has been my best producing lure I've used this fall.

SPRO little john is my favorite. Been catching a lot of bass with it.

You can get a JDM Bantam Mgl pg from japan. It has a 5.5 gear ratio.

Trilene knot works for me. Don’t have problems at all with it.
