  1. I bought trick worms in the same colors to try. Our weather has been so crazy this year I don't know when I will get out to try them.
  2. I throw crankbaits in the summer. I usually start with a crankbait unless something about the conditions tell me that won't work. The depth determines which one I use. Unlike what all the pros tell you I don't like it to digging into the bottom.
  3. Glad to see things are going so well for you. You will get better with more time on the water. Once in a while the fish will leave you scratching your wondering what you should have done to catch them that you didn't try.
  4. Hello and welcome.
  5. I guess my dumbest trick was running out of gas one time. By myself I wouldn't have cared but the wife was with me. It was about 8:30pm and luckily I was only about a mile from the boat ramp. I thought we were doing pretty good coming in on the trolling motor until two guys in a canoe passed us. And they didn't even offer to tow us in.
  6. Like others it is more of techniques than baits. I need to try the dropshot and ned rig more.
  7. I have watched the video Glen did on spooling a spinning reel. This was also in the directions on some Shimano reels I bought years ago. My stupid question is what difference does it make to do it like in the video or thread the line through all the guides and spool it? It appears to me it would work the same as long as the line is coming off the bottom of the spool. Just wondering if it does make a difference.
  8. I very rarely fish a grub like a swimbait. I usually twitch them along on the bottom and it has worked very well for me.
  9. The one on the left is a twin rail grub. The one on the right is a tube.
  10. As for colors I would recommend. black and blue pb&j green pumpkin
  11. Hello and welcome.
  12. Like Oregon native I don't get all wrapped up in sports or worrying about who wins or loses. The bad thing around here is people think it is okay to make death threats against people for talking bad about Kentucky wildcats. They aren't the ones out there playing the game.
  13. I throw grubs on a texas rig. Got green pumpkin, watermelon seed, junebug, chartruse, and root beer pepper green. I don't have white in my arsenal.
  14. I am using 12 LB test florocarbon on mine. I just bought a spool of Sunline super florocarbon. It sells for about $15.00 a spool.
  15. I have two of the tournament MB reels I use them for soft plastics and jigs. Most of the time I only use an 1/8 oz sinker for my soft plastics. I can't tell the magnetic brakes do anything. I keep them turned off and adjust the cast control knob to let the bait make a slow fall. I think I have four pins set on the centrifugal brakes on.
  16. Hello and welcome.
  17. I have a Garmin echo Map on my boat. I have found that it works better with it pushed slightly down instead of level. I have hit stuff in the water that pushed it level or up and it would not work when running. You should be able to adjust the angle of the transducer on the water as needed.
  18. I am certainly thankful I don't live in an area where I need a snowblower with tracks.
  19. I have never fished in Michigan. Down here I had very good luck With the Berkley Crazy legs chigger craw for small and large mouth.
  20. I store mine in the garage. The wife stays upset she can' get her car in there but the car is easier to clean than the boat.
  21. Zoom centipede has saved me many times.
  22. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  23. Hello and welcome.
  24. I am only running a 45 lb thrust Motorguide with a three blade prop. I know a fellow that repairs trolling motors for a living. I asked him about the two vs three blade props. He said you are always better off with a three blade as it is much more weedless.
