  1. I use 10 and 12 lb. Sufix Siege and have never had the problem you are describing. I always use a San Diego jam knot. The only time I use a palomar knot is when I rig up a drop shot.
  2. Like sully420 said close the bail by hand. Also using a barrel swivel and a leader will solve a lot of your problem.
  3. I usually tried to think ahead on what I would start with only to find the water temp or amount of color in the water wasn't what I thought it would be. Now I check everything before I tie any baits on. May not be a great tip but others have covered the best ones.
  4. I like the Zoom twin tail grub or the ultra vibe speed craw.
  5. He now has about half as many as his wife has. If she sneaks a few more from him when he is not looking he will have to whip out the credit card again.
  6. That is one wild video. I'm glad I wasn't the one having to fight with it in a kayak.
  7. The ones I have seen at BPS were 7/6 that collapsed down to 6/6.
  8. I am not familiar with your unit but the transducer would have to be below the water line. Especially if it also reads temp. You need water temp not air temp.
  9. I recently bought some packs of RI little dippers. One color was called small mouth magic. I have not had a chance to try them yet see if they are any good.
  10. I like Sufix Siege in 12 lb. test for a good mono line. I have had very good luck with it I have not tried a lot of the other brands.
  11. Several years ago I had the same problem and it was the primer bulb. My boat only has one fuel tank. Last year I had to take my boat to the dealer to get a water pump put in it. While it was there they called and said the fuel lines needed to be replaced. The fuel lines I had could be damaged by ethanol and the replacement lines ethanol would not damage. You might need to check this out. Hope this helps.
  12. Bass Pro and Cabelas both have 6/6 rods in their own brands and maybe some others.
  13. I have used the 2/0 for baby brush hogs and the 4/0 for stick worms. 3/0 should be good for 4 inch stick baits.
  14. I haven't gotten any Cabelas coupons either. I didn't think I had been put on their bad list.
  15. I agree 100 per cent with this.
  16. All of you are missing out. I have been texas rigging a whopper plopper.
  17. I have had very good luck on baby brush hogs and trick worms in that color. I think it is better in stained water but it can be tough to find clear water here we keep having so much rain.
  18. Hello and welcome from another Kentucky bass chaser.
  19. I have an older model Bass Tracker 175. I need some advice on any good ways to clean the carpet in my boat. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
  20. You're welcome. The reason for the swivel is to stop line twist. I had a lot of problems with spinning gear until someone told me to do that. They also told me to close the bail by hand. Those two things made a world of improvement with my spinning equipment.
  21. I normally use 10lb. Sufix siege mono for my main line. I add a barrel swivel and put a 2 or 3 foot leader of 8lb. floro on it. I have never used braid. I don't like the idea of casting a knot through my guides using braid and a leader. I'm sure a lot of guys will tell me i'm wrong. this is just my opinion.
  22. If you are using a bait caster I would tie direct with a belly weighted hook or swimbait head. If you are using a spinning rod I would use a barrel swivel and 2 or 3 foot leader to stop line twist.
  23. This is my way of fishing.
