  1. I had a few of those yrs ago and sold them they didnt fit my 4500s well ...now ive acquired some 1500s and 2500s that are made for them rods (kicks self) The ones had where made by berkely
  2. Yuup that BG is a sleeper ..better then my battle for sure im not a spinning reel guy but IMO the BG is hands down the best spinning reel out here and the black gold aint no slouch either if you dont mind a primative spinning reel with 3 bearings and no anti reverse
  3. Seems like a quality control issue all my Ireland made ones some over 20 yrs old still goin strong the Estonia ones look and fish cheap
  4. May have dry bearings shoot a tiny drop of remoil on each side

If you have a gap between frame and spool either or both are scrweed frame could be bent or spool could be bent ...roll the spool on a flat surface with a light shinning on it you will see any imperfections frame a diff storry only takes a hair to cause a gap and hard to pinpoint where its bent

  8. This is one reason i prefer my round abus ..synchronized levelwind never have a problem with line dig levelwind moves with spool rotations as it comes off the spool ! The closer the levelwind is to the spool and the angle makes for some diggin.
  9. Dawia bg 1500 and a 6' shimano old school fightin rod med light with 6 lb yo zuri 2 are easy to find the rod is hard to find but love it tip action with backbone
  10. As long as u aint nakkid they wont hurt ya ..they nip pretty good if they get a good hold wich is rare .they are not tryin to eat ya just scare ya ...way way worse things that can make your day .hornets wasp etc and swanns they can hurt ya bad .be vigilante and aware
  11. Round abus have many many parts still available original and modified a very strong following worldwide E bay has many old stock new or original parts between e bay and abu websites i could build whole reels all sizes ..in 30 mins 7 diff sizes

I have a similar one in black Bought mine in 94 If i remeber correctly it was a combo with a berkly rod which is long gone im thinking it was 59.99 These same reels new in 2018 are 130$ back in those days you could buy a abu 49.99 then they kept goin up 10 bucka each yr same design and all .very versitale realiable reels that can go the distance and hold there own with any reel made today

  15. 7 is eaiser to transport and 6" wont make much diff in distance but it can make a diff in action of the rod a mh 7' may be a pool cue where as the 7'6" may have a softer tip for shrimp .or vice versa

  17. A rapala knot makes a big difference for the better on balsa baits
  18. I use yo zuri from 4lb to 25lb and big game never a issue with either one

  22. Only 2 knots are actaully in play during normal fishing the knot to spool from the mono wont be touched.the knot between braid and mono the knot between lure and mono is the main knot.some ppl can tie perfect knots that never break as ive seen the main line break before the knot
  23. You can use 1k lures in a body of water with no fish and not catch anything ..and you can use 1 lure in a body of water filled with fish and catch them all . 1st step is finding 2nd is what lure ..mind over matter
  24. The rope gets tangled in their teeth(hope) is how they get caught
