3.3 Keitech jig head
My favorite attribute to the keitech is its body roll and big kick. Don't let the hook overpower the bait- take an extra second or two and let it sink IMO.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Just thought I'd reach out here. I am looking for a boat for the IHSA Sectional Tournament at Busse Woods (for high school kids). If anyone would be willing to help out with a boat on May 4, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Please feel free to PM me.

Northern Swimbait Fishing
I agree with everything said above. I would say I fish MI more than IL and I use 6-8" often and catch many shapes and sizes. Very surprised at the amount of small fish too. You definitely need to have patience and I have the most luck in early spring and then at night throughout summer. I do wish I had FFS to watch and see what I am potentially missing though! The big issue for me is the amount of Pike I get when targeting LM bass. It can get EXPENSIVE quick...

Yamamoto at Walmart
These were some SOFT baits.

Anchoring
I am not your buddy that said that, but have you ever been swimming in the water with boats on their big motor cruising around- you hear them 1000+ feet away under water. Trolling motors no where near as bad but some are worse than others and if you get weeds on the end with non stop ticking. Both are non stop noise vs 2 plops (I wish I had talons/Powerpoles). I can only imagine what a bass's ear/lateral line go through in a day. I set up the "drift" so I can be as quiet as possible until I get to the spot.

6.8" Keitech VS 6" Magdraft comparison
Magdraft Freestyle has a more "thump" (slows the bait down) and is more difficult to stay down I have no experience with the actual magdraft. Keitech has a more total body shimmy and can be brought back VERY SLOW. But both tails do some serious kicking, just depends on what you want as there is a time and place for each.

The new TowNStow BarCart Kayak Cart
I like the kickstand! I need to add one to my wilderness systems as it can be difficult to load!

Have you noticed the 5” Bull Shad is almost impossible to keep down in the water column?
Only way I fish this bait is to burn-pause...... burn-pause....... burn-pause......

Adding autopilot trolling motor to PDL kayak?
Just wondering- How was the NK 180 configured with the rudder?

Terminal Tackle Storage
plano edge 3700 terminal in the boat- absolutely love it! I used to have it stuffed with 10-15 of everything but now I keep approx 5 of everything I want, so I don't need to lug as much around. Keep the extra terminal in the academy terminal box in the garage. I really like that it being normal depth am able to store quite a bit in their compartments and holds the tungsten snug in the holders.

What is this structure?
To add to this I cannot believe how much different some of the maps near me are. Totally inaccurate. Depths were somewhat OK but the contours were WAY off. The new technology is amazing!

Winter is coming...
What are you doing this off season for you northern guys? I am changing out several treble to a "red" version and cleaning reels. May also work on the kayak set up a bit. Justs looking for ideas. TIA

I need a new cranking rod, torn between glass and graphite/glass composites.
Just to chime in here. I love both my dobyn's CB rods. The champ 764cb and the 705 cb handle all of my cranks currently, I do hope to add a 704 for the lighter cranks. I just love the taper of Dobyn's CB

Looking for treble hook weight chart...
Thank you for this as I have not seen it. I do believe there still is a much larger version of this floating around but this should take care of what I need atleast! Thanks!

Looking for treble hook weight chart...
Yeah, someone a while back put each hook on a digital scale and had some really good information compiled. Looking for that sheet/info don't want to go the route of suspend strips or wire just yet.

Looking for treble hook weight chart...
Someone a while back had a large composite list of jerkbait hook sizes along with their stock treble hook weights along with aftermarket treble hooks that were the same weight. I believe it was an excel spreadsheet- but may have been a post that I cannot find anymore. By any chance are you that person that had it or know what I am talking about? I promise to never lose it again if I can see it!!! Looking to do some maintenance this off season and I think I am going to have to replace quite a few hooks and wouldn't mind trying some different short shank EWG versions. TIA

Braid too loud? Thinking of going to higher pound FC for flipping/Pitching
I have been transitioning to more braid applications for heavy vegetation. As I go deeper into the stuff, my bait gets louder and louder as I go through it. I know There are differences in 5 vs 8 carrier braids and coated braids yada yada yada. But in general I feel that I am being too loud fishing through all the vegetation as the bait raises and drops over stalks and through hole. I just feel likes its too loud to go through this stuff while still fishing it effectively. I try to hit what I consider higher percentage areas but they can be anywhere in that slop and I feel by the time I get there I may have scared EVERYTHING away with the grinding on all of these stalks. Next summer I plan on experimenting with straight higher lb FC in these situations but assume some of you already do this as I have gone to leaders in many of my applications already and enjoy them but while flipping/pitching in this heavier stuff I have lost several on the hookset/impact usually near the knot near the bait. No rocks or wood where I am fishing Any thoughts on straight FC?

Line Diameter - Are Bass that Wary?
Loved that you brought up line diameter and not "pound test". SOOO many people think a certain pound test in any given type of line is consistent across all the brands, however it is NOT. I can attest to the line diameter, making my baits presentation different in the water.

Xmas Present Request Issues
Ha! You guys have been great! I may have to splurge and get an anchor wizard and trolley system now... Will probably go with the rear mount adapter kit from navarre and add a trolley system.

Xmas Present Request Issues
Does it light up enough to provide your cockpit area some light? I am just not sure I would be comfortable @ night especially when it is just so much easier to just take the boat out. Definitely would want to do the visipole first

Xmas Present Request Issues
I have seen a few utilizing the track system and carabiners in front/back that didn't look too bad but I have no experience with them. Currently using the ol' retractable dog leash w/weight.

Xmas Present Request Issues
So I am literally the guy that just buys what he wants when he needs it (aren't we all). This past year I bought a sportsman 120 pdl and tricked it out to my liking so far. But when everybody keeps asking me what I want for Xmas I come up blank. What's next that could I add to the yak to make it better/more functional. I am debating: Some kind of anchor trolley (I want 0 holes) Marine lights (this has kept me off the water at night) Red/Green or just Visipole Pedals Or any other ideas?
