I wear prescription glasses and sunglasses when fishing. I need them for distance, so tying knots with or without them is a non-issue. If am driving a boat, I need glasses to see distance.
  2. I ordered a Lexa 300 Winn from ALF - after discounts and points $120 shipped. I will use the Tatula for flipping/pitching..
  3. I ordered a Lexa 300 Winn from ALF - after discounts and points $120 shipped. I will use the Tatula for flipping/punching.
  4. Yes! Forgot to mention the $30 off! I got that too! Smoking deal if rods arrive in one piece. I couldn't resist either.
  5. I just ordered the Tatula 200 from Sportsmans Outfitters, 6.3:1 for $109.99 shipped. I was going to wait for Black Friday, but doubt anyone will have it for that price. Lowest I have seen, besides SO, is $129.99 on eBay. I will wait for TW Black Friday sale to get the DX rod. Thanks for the input!
  6. Dicks has 2 Tatula rods on sale: Tatula medium cranking and Tatula frog. You can buy both for the original price of one. Pretty good deal, if they can be delivered in one piece.
  7. welcome fellow northwesterner! good fishing around here
  8. Thanks for all of the input. I tried them both on last night and the insulated will definitely be too hot. The non-insulated has plenty of room for layering. Very nice suit for $250 bye-the-way. I will be returning the insulated version. Could not justify keeping both - I can get a new swimbait combo with the savings.
  9. And they have a few models of the Daiwa Cronos for $99 each.
  10. The non-insulated set arrives today. You and I live on a similar parallel (Washington State here), so I might have to think more about this...I will try them both on tonight.
  11. ALF is having a sale on Gill rainsuits. They have insulated and non-insulated. I could not decide, so I ordered both to try and send one back. My original thinking was the non-insulated might be a better option because it will allow me to layer. I can also use it in the summer months. The insulated version however might be the ticket since I live in the Northwest and it gets cold at times here. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  12. Tatula CT Type R - can find them on ebay for $120.
  13. The Lexa 300 is on sale at ALF for $139.99
  14. What about the Tatula 150 in 5.4:1? Too small or go with Tatula 200?
  15. I am looking to buy a swimbait set up. The rod needs to handle s-wavers, hudds, and swimbaits under 8 ounces. I would like to spend under $300 total. I see that ALF has the Daiwa Lexa Type Winn on sale, would that be a good reel for this application? I am looking at the Daiwa DX Swimbait rod as well in heavy.
  16. This year I have been using the 6th Sense Provoke 106X in Yellow Perch with great success! And they don't cost an arm and a leg.
  17. I use a Berkley Max Capacity Bait Notebook with smaller plastic bags for individual items (the smaller bags go inside the binder bags). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7HMQ9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This works well for me. It fits nicely in the front pocket of my Cabelas Advanced Angler bag.
  18. Yea, it is rainy here, that is for sure. A quality rain jacket is mandatory here.
  19. Best bang for the buck is rod and reel for $200-250 range.
  20. War eagle finesse
  21. Tatula XT 7 ft MH cranking rod with Fuego CT 6.3:1. 10 or 12 lb invisx or sniper flouro.
  22. 6th Sense 75X is my favorite square bill to use around laydowns
  23. I have 4 Fuego CTs, a Tatula SV TWS 103 and Tatula 100. As you can probably tell, I like the CT the best. Just a good, smooth, hard-working reel.
  24. Academy H2O lures are hard to beat, especially when they are on sale.
