  1. St Croix use to - but the latest charts on their web-pages have eliminated the weights.
  2. Published price of batteries usually does NOT include a core charge - bringing your old one's in will allow you to forego paying that addition. And I think by law, they have to accept old batteries back in lieu of the core charge. He mentioned earlier that he can only fit Group 27s - not enough room for Group 31s
  3. Home Depot - Mighty Max 100ah AGM (exact one I have) $180ea - 2 for $360+tax...well under your quote
  4. Pretty close - Home Depot prices Mighty Max 100ah LiFePo4 - $350 each ($700) NOCO Genius 5x2 - $140 So $840+tax (free ship to store)
  5. Well, fillet them up...that'll teach them.
  6. Well - just an FYI: My last outing was almost 7 hours, most of that time spent on the TM either moving spots or holding position (lots of fun with no Spot-Lock on my Edge)...and my NOCO reported that I still had over 50% charge left on the single Mighty Max 100ah...which is Group 27 size.
  7. This is what I got for a cranking battery - Fleet Farm home brand If you're thinking of just adding another battery or two - you'd still want to replace the originals. You want the exact same make, capacity and date when you link two batteries together either in series or parallel. The paired batteries will only be as good as the least capable one in the link...and if it's older and not holding a full charge....the new battery will be just as handicapped.
  8. Mighty Max - which you can order from and have drop-shipped to Home Depot or Lowes...and return there as well if needed.
  9. I had a flooded battery in the canoe, AGMs in Bass Trek. Note: AGMs are also lead-acid, just with a glass-mat absorption system so it doesn't 'slosh'). Definitely feel it was a worthwhile upgrade - they seem to hold a charge longer, don't discharge as fast under load, and I like that I can mount them in any orientation other than upside-down. What charger you got anyway? My NOCO Genius 5x2 will handle Lithiums...reason I bought it so that when I do upgrade I don't have to get a new charger.
  10. VMC didn't buy Rapala - they entered a merger...which is why it's known as Rapala-VMC Corp. It's also public with shares owned by many different investors....including Shimano holding just over 2% of shares...and is traded on NASDAQ Helsinki
  11. Tested 10 times - average was 33.4 years old - range was 31-37 Not bad for a 63 year old.
  12. While I have caught several fish on jigs/trailers, it's not my most productive lure. I'd say go with what works for you...and if jigs aren't, then it's okay to set them aside.
  13. I have the Fury 704C and it compares favorably to my Mojo Bass 7'1' MH/F...I think the Mojo is more sensitive and the Fury a little slower in action, but they're pretty close.
  14. Yep - .364oz for a 5" (3/8 is .375) Few years back there was a thread on plastics weights...and I saved off the data to my fishing spreadsheet.
  15. Haven't tried that one, DB, If I can find a small sample-bottle I will...don't want to dish out the cash for a fifth and find out it's not to my liking.
  16. There is only one...
  17. ^ What RW said - sounds like one got though QC somehow...never had an issue with a St Croix.
  18. They're actually fairly decent - I'd take home all I could back in MA.
  19. Could be at the battery if you ran the Garmin power cable directly to it...or could be where you connected the Garmin cable to 'where-ever' - either butt-joined to a cable from the battery or the fuse box.
  20. Reversed the polarity during install?
  21. This is our one place. I'm the end result of a few billion years of evolution and I am unique in the entire universe (multiverse?). When I'm gone, there will be no one else exactly like me.
  22. If you squint - they are a part of the Centrarchidae family, which includes Sunfish, Crappie, Rock Bass, and the other Bass genus/species (LM, SM, Spot, etc)...but the body type is more typical of Sunfish or Crappie. I suppose if we allow 'Rock Bass' in here - the Crappie guys are gonna want to barge in too.
  23. It's pretty easy to replace a J-Hook with a clip...I did it with my cheap scale.
  24. St Croix Victory...I've got a 7'3" H/MF that I use for jigs and moderate-cover pitching that's lighter than my Fury 703C.
  25. Thursday is my normal fishing day now - ya, I think this week it's gonna be a miss
