  1. Too bad it's not next year - Scheels is opening in Tulsa fall of 2024 and they carry Dobyns and St Croix.
  2. If that's the base weight without plastics...I'd go with the Medium.
  3. What are you planning on doing with it?
  4. I dunno about him - but the Victorys outshine the Furys in every aspect...even dropping to the Mojo from St Croix is an improvement over the Furys. Yes, I have rods from all three lines.
  5. What you can do with a 14'-16' Semi-V Jon
  6. I thought that was the only way to do it. Braid being the more supple line makes it much easier to tie this way - wrapping the Mono/FC around the braid seems counter-intuitive.
  7. Are you making sure to wet the knot before cinching it down? Makes all the difference. 10# 832 -> 6# InvizX 20# Smackdown -> 10# InvizX 40# 832 -> 15# BasiX 50# 832 -> 17# Trilene XL FG knot when setting up before a trip, Alberto in the boat if I have a break-off or lure-changes make the leader too short for my taste. Rarely break at the knot if I do break off.
  8. ^ Woody - by the time I was 12, I was smoking about 1/2 a pack a day of either Pall Mall or Camel - no filters. Not something to be proud of - but probably why I'm still smoking 50 years later. Not that it's done me much harm - my last CAT scan (every two years cause cancer) showed my lungs as 98% clear, and my last EKG was totally normal...for a 40 year old in decent shape. Some of us are seemingly near-immune to the harmful effects. The cancer was eye caused by too much exposure to UV - I was bad about not wearing sunglasses when younger.
  9. Top 50 for tomorrow - I got three going The Llama-meister is really having a bad year though.
  10. Our local grocery store has a 'classic candy' rack with Necos, Sweet Tarts, Bottle Caps (my favorite) and others. Man - I use to OD on those at work.
  11. Local is better Had one local place - owner was former manager of the local Country Kitchen - when they closed that location, he opened his own place. Favorite of Nora's and mine for 30 years. Then COVID happened, his debts rose and he had to close. Now he's managing the local IHOP. Just opened last summer was a Japanese Hibachi place - two locations...here in town and Downtown Minneapolis. Great food, good service...fair prices. Olive Garden is decent, so is Red Lobster - never tried Chick-Fil-A and never will...reasons.
  12. I haven't received an e-mail update all year.
  13. @TnRiver46 - Russ, that average of 13 is for the entire summer - May-September...we're only 60% through the season and already have 50% more 90+ days for the year...gods only know what we'll end up with.
  14. Only 'Pro-Sports' I'm interested in is the FIFA World Cup (Woman's USA is 1-0-1 so far) Rest of it can just go away....so to answer the original question Neither
  15. Our average number of days that are 90+ is 13 We've had 21 so far this summer.
  16. Once you put a worm or creature on there, you're gonna be more like 1/2-3/4oz MH/F - the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods
  17. Fine - here's my picks for this weekend
  18. One of my side hobbies is writing - wife got me the perfect cup to store pens, pencils, etc in.
  19. ^ You mean I have to re-do the one's I had in last month?
  20. And is that 1oz with trailer, or before a trailer is added. Plus, if it's a jig/chatterbait/spinnerbait - that 1oz is just for the head...add the weight of the hook, skirt and blades on the last two....a 1oz spinnerbait will end up being 1&1/4-1&3/8oz before the trailer is put on. If you're going with 1oz lure - a 735 is minimum...I'd prefer a 736 personally for that.
