  1. Unless it's a 1/4oz Mini 3/8oz and over...MH definitely...and a Mod-Fast, not a Mod Gotta remember that the weight printed is JUST for the head...now add the weight of the hook, skirt and blade...and don't forget the trailer.
  2. ^ RAM mount for the win...I may not have a top-of-the-line unit (Striker 7CV), but it gets pulled from the boat once it's on the trailer, and doesn't go back on until I'm prepping for launch.
  3. ^ Drools I'd love to 'Release the Kraken'!
  4. Brushes wear out and if you get water in there, they can corrode.
  5. Minnesota the law is simple and clear. If you can reach any part of the shore through public land, the entirety of the water-body is considered public...no one can legally prevent you from fishing any part of it so long as you do not set foot on private land. Someone may own the docks, but the water around and under them is public.
  6. Are you trying to become the Hair Police? (Wait...that's the name of a salon in the Lake-Lyn neighborhood...right behind my tattooist.)
  7. This is the trailer I got for the canoe I had - brand new is $700, but there's occasionally sales https://www.northerntool.com/products/ironton-jet-ski-and-personal-watercraft-trailer-kit-steel-frame-610-lb-load-capacity-37554
  8. Exactly - considering the kayak was thermo-formed in the first place, welding with the correct tool/supplies will basically 're-make' that area...it's not a patch job, it's filling in the hole with the same material and thermo-fusing them. I worked at a place that used 1/2" HDPE for the containment cabinets. We'd have to weld seams, fill mis-drilled holes, etc...once it was done, you couldn't tell that it had been done as it looked like part of the original assembly.
  9. I'm in agreement with several others here - not all bait-balls have bass chasing them. Example: Yesterday I was out, saw several bait-balls on my downscan...never saw one fish come out of the weeds to 'attack' the ball. I did try running things through or over the weeds...not even one tap. I'd move on...which is what I'll do in the future unless I 'see' something on sonar.
  10. I'm boring - Zoom Finesse Worm.
  11. ^ Ditto...it's completely situational.
  12. One of the very few sites I disable my blocking...
  13. Firefox is the only browser I use - been that way for over a decade. I don't have any problems on my desktop, netbook, or Android devices. I'm gonna be bummed though...support for my Win-7 is ending, so I'll be stuck at the last update for that. Also, Thunderbird (another Mozilla project) is my e-mail program of choice.
  14. Nice - but this should go in 'Other Species'...this topic is for bass.
  15. I use both and the only difference I've really noticed is the stretch. Out today - my wacky spinning rig is a President XT-30 loaded with 8# InvizX. Sensitive as all get out, pulled through weeds without an issue, and the knot stayed tight. Just have to use a knot that doesn't pinch the line too much.
  16. Since I can't afford Talons or PowerPoles - I use an 8' stake-out pole in Bass Trek if I want to sit someplace for a while...if it's shallow enough to use the pole that is.
  17. And the switch from an impeller driven pump to a 6' self-priming diaphragm pump worked like a champ. Filled the LW quick and easy. Everything is now fully operational.
  18. The brand is great - Promix has had lots of reports of issues. I use 832 on most of my braid rigs...never had an issue with it. Only braid I'd recommend over 832 is Seaguar Smackdown. I'll let you know if Yo-Zuri Super is worth it...I'm using that in 10# on my two finesse rigs this year
  19. Today was a great day - caught 3 LMBs and 3 Pumpkinseeds...while the bass might have been dinks, I was on the water enjoying the nice weather...AND I CAUGHT SOMETHING That makes it a great day.
  20. Another day out on the water...kind of slow but not a skunk day. Biggest was #2 at 14"
  21. Be prepared to do a LOT of sanding. I actually looked at that stuff at my local Menards....it's very rough surfaced.
  22. Bummer that it happened with a gal that big...but oh well. I'm not gonna berate you for not 'wasting' her - I'm a selective harvest guy myself. Any bass in the 1.5#-2.5# range has a 50/50 shot of going home with me.
  23. That looks to be about pickling size.
