  1. Probably one of the best short explanations of pitching and flipping.
  2. This If you're pitching, why are you overhand casting? Pitching is an underhand motion.
  3. 30# braid to a leader appropriate for the technique would be the way I'd go.
  4. Today was a shore-fishing morning. 3 yearling bass (about 6"), 1 2-year walleye (about 9") and several 5"-7" bluegill. Creme Tiny Lipless crank (1/10oz) and Rapala UL Shad-04 (1/8oz) were the main getters. Had to show the walleye to another guy on the pier...he'd never seen one before.
  5. We'll send it to you - previous three days here we were at 90+...and currently at 87 and still climbing today.
  6. X2 - I also have this Victory...excellent JB rod...I think the spinning version would do just as good.
  7. Correction to that, buddy Totally uninhabitable...
  8. We had the opposite - official high was 92, but outside my house reached 95...definitely summer. Other than running out this morning for an errand, I've been 'hibernating' in the cooler house.
  9. Exactly so - don't look at the words, look at the numbers. Example - Two rods, both rated 10#-20# line, 1/4-1oz lures - so exactly the same ratings. Dobyns 704C - Labeled Heavy Aird-X - Labeled Medium-Heavy.
  10. Sure did - been a Trekkie since 1966...
  11. @A-Jay - I know you put them on under the Lund. How they working out for you I'm thinking of putting them under Bass Trek this coming winter.
  12. 3" Berkley Pit Boss 3" Berkley Chigger Craw
  13. Well, not 1/2 - but the Victory line also has a 'Rip-n-Chatter' 7'2" H/M for $200
  14. If I enjoyed my time on the water or shore wetting a line - it's a good day If I catch something...it's a bonus.
  15. Make sure it's Spar Urethane - regular polyurethane won't hold up to the wet as well. I not only fitted/stapled the carpet to the underside, I also used outdoor rated carpet glue. My project from winter 2021-22 - all done with aluminum angle, rivets and sealed BCX plywood with indoor/outdoor carpet.
  16. Plain old BCX plywood is sufficient - long as you double-coat it with oil-based spar urethane to keep the wet out. If you don't seal it, even the best wood you can get will start rotting. Note: using pressure treated wood is contra-indicated...especially if it's an aluminum boat. The chemicals used in pressure treated lumber will start corroding the aluminum.

Don't look at me - I may not have top-end like others, but my rainsuit is Columbia.
  18. Just starting I guess - my arsenal is... Bass: 11 Casting and 5 Spinning Panfish: 3 Spinning (and two of the bass spinners could shift over as well)

Get yourself some of this and spray it on the Toggs...that'll at least mitigate it.
  20. I kinda like my Strike King Banshees - Dick's/F&S exclusive. 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz.
  21. Yep - I buy acid brushes by the carton full...just the right stiffness. I also use hypodermic needles for my oiling, precision placement and only a touch. 36 brushes for $7 right now...https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Grade-Acid-Brushes-Count/dp/B07PHG2DQY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A1HD84JZ5JR3NU
  22. Or it could be a 'budget' reel that has a bushing. Only under $70 spinning reels I know of that had a bearing were the Avocet RZT's - reason I got a few of them on deep discount when Mitchell stopped making them.
  23. Everything I have fits in a 3700. Weights, hooks, swivels, Neds, Shakey. The boxes are two sizes, the large for 4/0 and 5/0 hooks, and are not air/water-tight, so the silica packs can dry things in them too. Larger weights, like my S.O. 1oz and 1.5oz don't fit in the boxes, so they get a compartment each.
