Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It's here...it's here. Ordered Sunday eve, shipped Monday late afternoon, got here 1:30 this afternoon Gotta love it when a used/excellent condition one is only $143 with tax Gone through it - can't find a blemish or anything anywhere on it...basically like new.

Grilled bacon wrapped walleye...
Broiled or grilled with a little butter, salt and pepper...maybe a dash of rosemary It's the only way I eat fish - if you don't want the flavor of the fish, why eat it?

Sexy Shad is a staple in my boxes - whether it's a jig, chatterbait or spinner bait.

eating Oatmeal.
I switch off between Cream of Wheat and an egg dish I whip up. 2 eggs, 1-1/2 sausage links cut into small bits, 1/4 cup shredded cheese...mix, microwave 40 seconds on high, mix again, another 40 seconds, serve. Basically it's Crack-n-Egg but at less than 1/2 the cost.

Coming up to a waypoint
Let me rephrase - Given I'm on SS only, my fishing budget is based on cash gifts given me by relatives. For me to purchase a Spotlock TM, I'd have to forgo fishing entirely for an entire year as my budget includes things like fishing license, gas, boat insurance, etc. The cheapest Spotlock equipped TM is equal to my annual fishing budget.

Used baits
If they have any measure of salt in them, they will.

Rain Gear/cold weather gear
I'm looking at Blackfish myself...local place out of Maple Grove, but well rated by a number of people.

Coming up to a waypoint
As others have said, approach from downwind, cut the main motor well before you get there and sneak up to it on the TM. If approaching from upwind - same thing, but you can let the wind push you to it instead of using the TM.

3/4oz Spinnerbaits: What Rod Characteristics?
I've been using my Aird-X MH/F for smaller spinner and chatterbaits - ya, you can feel the vibration of the blades with that one...been a pretty good moving baits rod. So my vote is for the Aird-X H/F for the 3/4oz moving baits.

Help me select a jig/worm rod
Whelp - site that I can't name had a Victory 7'3" MH/F 'The Marshall' in excellent condition in their used area. With the points I'd earned from ordering from them (5 of my 6 Furys came from them), total was only $143 with tax...and I'm paying over time since I have enough in my personal checking account to cover the first 3 payments, and I'm due some money before #4 payment is due. This is going to paired up with my Patriarch 7.1 Thanks for all the help people.

Wisdom Tooth Removal
Better when you're younger than when older. Wisdom teeth never gave me a problem...till I hit 50. Sister said getting hers out as a teen wasn't horrible - for me, it was full knock-out anesthesia in a hospital operating room cause they were so rooted. My oral surgeon told me this was typical - older folks have to go through more to get them out than the younger ones.

Northern Ontario Fall Smallmouth, a cold, but fun trip
Number of northern states do close the season. MN closes bass, walleye, pike and muskie the end of February...can't even target them during the closed season. Muskie opens up early June, walleye and pike the middle of May with bass have a C&R only season from middle to end of May, when you can finally keep them if you want.
