  1. I've tried Quantum - very unimpressed.
  2. Ya, but like Dean mentioned - his state bans lead under a certain weight...so he has to go steel or tungsten.
  3. And of course, Scott got himself a decent 'hammer handle'...typical for up here as they chase the same type of lures that bass do.
  4. Even the budget cameras have these options. My Dragon Touch Vision 3 and 4 have remotes for start/stop the video or take single frame photos. They also have an app that lets my phone or tablet control the cameras and see what they're seeing. I use one of my Vision 3 cameras on a backpack-clip mount clipped to the topper window and running through my Tablet as my backup camera when launching/landing the F-9. My video edit software on the PC is NCH Video Pad and I view the 'finished' product with VideoLan VLC Media Player - which has a hotkey to 'snap' frames to JPG files.
  5. Best I can find is Nako - 10 pack of 1/4oz tungsten for $14 https://nakoshop.com/collections/drop-shot-weights/products/nako-bulk-tungsten-skinny-drop-shot-weights?variant=40436610072775 A few people here have ordered from them...they seem to be legit.
  6. No - but in the case of 'lost' shipments, Amazon has been very good about getting me my money back within a couple days. Months? d**n man - that's just way outside my experience. Not Amazon? Reaction Tackle - 25 pack of poured lead - $13 direct https://www.reactiontackle.com/products/lead-drop-shot-weights?variant=12130037432356
  7. 40 pack of poured lead for $13 https://www.amazon.com/FishingPepo-Weights-Fishing-Sinkers-Saltwater/dp/B09DYNWGFH/ref=sr_1_68?crid=X5P41EIBYBB0&keywords=tungsten%2Bdrop%2Bshot%2Bweights%2Bbulk&qid=1661778383&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=tungsten%2Bdrop%2Bshot%2Bweights%2Bbulk%2Csporting%2C98&sr=1-68&th=1 Or a 10 pack of tungsten for $16 https://www.amazon.com/MUUNN-Tungsten-Teardrop-Weights-Fishing/dp/B09Q88S6SP/ref=sr_1_21?crid=X5P41EIBYBB0&keywords=tungsten%2Bdrop%2Bshot%2Bweights%2Bbulk&qid=1661778088&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=tungsten%2Bdrop%2Bshot%2Bweights%2Bbulk%2Csporting%2C98&sr=1-21&th=1&psc=1
  8. I still get a kick out of one of his 'Live' shows....him and long-time friend KVD were fishing a lake in Michigan. Kevin gets a good one and Zona gives him a 'smack'. Ya...he's a character.
  9. Fun though - he's an entertainer first, an angler second. His guests seem to enjoy spending time with him...I wouldn't mind a day on the water with Zona...it wouldn't be boring...
  10. 14 year old article....many formulations have changed since then. Hypoallergenic softeners have really come into their own, and I use one. Despite the wife's sensitive skin, this one doesn't give her any problems.
  11. Obviously takes after his great-grandma... When do you plan on getting a rod in his hand, Mike?
  12. Never had a spool of 'bad line'...course I only buy line from reputable places...never Amazon, never E-Bay.
  13. I can trade off without any loss of effectiveness. Since I still haven't mastered skipping with baitcasting gear, I have a MH/F spinning rig I do my heavier-lure skipping with. Feathering the line with my index finger allows me just as much accuracy as thumbing a BC spool. Distance isn't an issue, and getting the right line on the reel is a must Sufix Siege, Sufix Elite, InvizX in 8# and under, YZH in 4# and 6#, and 832 or Smackdown up to 20# are the lines I use on my spinning gear.
  14. Yep - Drag rating should be pretty much ignored when looking for a reel for finesse fishing...you'll never use it's max rating...even on reels with ratings in the 7#-9# range. With 10# braid going to a 6# leader....I got my drag set at about 2#....on a reel that has 18# max drag available.
  15. They didn't start Thursday, they started yesterday...so today is Day 2, tomorrow is top 47, Monday is top 10.
  16. Same here - I rebuilt the bunks on the F-9 trailer as part of it's overhaul...give me 2-3 years when the carpet starts wearing then I'll probably go with the Ultimates.
  17. Well ya - that kinda negates the need for this technique...but not all of us have lure-knockers.
  18. If you still get snagged - MWO just today posted about how to un-snag your lure...jump to 2:37 for the 'How To'.
  19. Well, they ARE from La-La land.
  20. Crayfish - chalk that up to my Aquatic Biology major in college...it's the proper common name. Crawfish is a regional affection.
  21. Just like with property values in realty - "Location, Location, Location."
  22. It can work on dry land - but it's much easier on the water. Yep, cut off the lure, trail the line behind you...about 1/2 again what your longest cast is...then reel it in while pinching it to keep it tight on the spool.
  23. There's several people who've 'left' just since I've joined.
  24. It's not easy...but yes, I skip spinners occasionally. Get it right and the blade(s) almost act like water-skis.
  25. Shore fishing today - just a short jaunt with not enough time to launch/land the F-9 HEY! They're getting bigger.
