  2. Well, you could go with Mighty Max - they're out of NJ, been in business twice as long as Relion. Mighty Max 100ah LiFePo4 - $449.99 - so $50 less than the Tracker 80ah for 25% more storage
  3. Group 24 - 60ah - $499 Group 27 - 80ah - $699 BPS sells them well under the manufacturers prices Relion Group 24 - 60ah - $599 Group 27 - 80ah - $845
  4. Spinning rig - light line.
  5. Ya - but as said, the upfront cost is beyond the means of some of us. The F-9 rebuild has to come in under a certain amount...there is no extra to be had. And going with AGMs, it's gonna be right down to the wire.
  6. Personally I like the wire hooks as well
  7. Thank you for supporting a Minnesota business. Ya, they're operating out of a small section of an industrial row - little cramped for space.
  8. Are we talking wacky, shakey, neko or weightless T-Rig? 8# InvizX on a spinning rig Weighted T-Rig, C-Rig? 15# Tatsu on a casting rig.
  9. I guess my aquatic biology training made me a little more 'tow-the-line'. If it's an out-of-season accidental catch - no photos, no measurements - back in the water ASAP. Number of dink bass I've caught while targeting crappie with crappie lures is annoying at times.
  10. Right now I don't have enough spare hard or soft baits to put on pegs. Only use 1 drawer of that Sterilite container in fact to store both.
  11. MN we only have 2 weeks of C&R bass in the spring. Middle to end of May. End of Feb to middle of May, bass are totally off limits. So are walleye and pike.
  12. Still - why would you target an out-of-season fish anyway?
  13. I was perusing the laws in PA and NY. Even taking a photo of a fish caught out of season is evidence of violation of the law and can see fines, jail time or both.
  14. "Captive audience" They don't want to lose their spot, and forgot to bring lunch...so ya, they'll pay it.
  15. Well, now you're sunk...Bait Monkey is gonna have you filling a box with Vision 110s before too long.
  16. I got two going into tomorrow - but they're pretty much at the tail-end of the field... Ah well - there's always Chickamauga
  17. With the canoe, I just manually picked weeds off the TM and trailer - which is why I'm not entirely sure North Arm has one...never needed it. Phelps Bay (my other canoe launch point) doesn't have one. Last time I used the Spring Park launch was with the old runabout...about 2004 or so...well before they started installing these things. Never been on Independence.
  18. Great that you got out... Meanwhile in MN - 7 weeks, 6 days until we can legally target bass.
  19. Spring Park launch on Minnetonka has had one for a few years. I think I remember that the North Arm launch had one too. Lake Independence at the Baker Park Reserve launch had one installed by 3-Rivers Park District back in 2015...don't know if it's still there.
  20. I only have a spool of it cause a generous member here sent it to me as a gift. I only put 70yds on my Patriarch...so I have two more spoolings worth. Then I'll probably drop to InvizX - I have 6# and 8# on a couple spinning reels and I'm really liking it actually. KVD L&L is also a staple in my box - everything but braid gets treated.
  21. Had to be a bad spool - happens occasionally. My 15# Tatsu is more supple than the 12# YZH on my crank-rig...and almost as supple as the 10# Big Game I use as backing material on my casting reels.
  22. Small world I lived in Levittown in the early 60s. You stalking me, bro?
  23. Which is exactly why I don't pay attention to the 'words' and just look at line/lure ratings when picking out rods for general use. Swimbait, Flip/pitch and Crank rods are whole different animals.
  24. Action is harder to pin down, but power I base on line/lure stats Let's take a selection of Medium-Heavy rods around 7' long of about the same price range 13 Omen Black: 12#-20# 3/8-1oz Abu Garcia Veritas: 12#-20# 1/4-1oz Daiwa Tatula: 10#-20# 1/4-1oz Fenwick HMG: 10#-20# 3/8-1oz Lews Custom Speed Stick: 12#-25# 1/4-7/8oz St Croix Bass-X: 12#-20# 3/8-1oz Now look at the Dobyns Dobyns Fury/Sierra 703: 10#-17# 1/4-3/4 (labeled Medium-Heavy) Dobyns Fury/Sierra 704: 10#-20# 1/4-1oz (labeled Heavy) - this is more in line with the others that are labeled Medium-Heavy But Dobyns spinning rods. Sierra 704: 10#-20# 1/4-1oz - labeled Medium Heavy. Why the different 'words' for two rods with the same number/stats?
