What happened with all the 6’6” rods?
I've got three 6'6" rods - two are M/F (1 spin/1 cast). These are relegated to my shore fishing as there are usually trees in close vicinity.

Spinning Finesse rod and line recommendations
If you want a medium - raise that limit a bit For the reel. Line I use on my Fury 703SF/President XT-30 for shaky and wacky.

Solo launching Jon Boat with no ramp and a small drop off and sand...Would this work?
Watched this the last time you posted it, Paul. I'd like to see the vid where he gets it back on the trailer there.

I got that one for the canoe - and have used it moving the F-9 around...pretty good little unit for the money. $50 less on Amazon for the same one. https://www.amazon.com/Tow-Tuff-Adjustable-Trailer-Caster/dp/B00IAM1UEU/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=trailer%2Bdolly&qid=1647196553&sr=8-7&th=1

How to store any reels ......DRAG ADJUSTMENT CORRECTLY........
Current inventory is 16 rigs. 3 have yet to be upgraded to carbon drags - so right now it'd be 3 backed off end of every trip and 13 backed off the end of season.

60 degrees and sunny
Woke up to -4 this morning little bit of some snow to finish the weekend - but it gets better this next week for us... We should start seeing the snow-pack diminish and some melting of the lake ice this coming week.

I grew up in Massachusetts, moved to Minnesota in '74....I've never spent a winter out of the snow belt.

How to store any reels ......DRAG ADJUSTMENT CORRECTLY........
If the drag on the reel is oil-felt - then yes, I back it off the end of each trip. If the drag is carbon-fiber - I just back it off the end of the season.

Winter 2021/22
I think we're seeing the tail end of it. Woke up this morning to -4 - but starting tomorrow highs will be in the 40s and 50s with night-time lows near or above freezing. "Let it melt, let it melt, let it melt!:

First Boat…
Look at the used market - just poking around Boat Trader I found a few boats from a basic fishing (3 seats) to a fully decked with under-deck storage, TM and 4" fish-finder all for under that $5k mark...yes, motor and trailer included. For $5k and going used, you can get a pretty darn good setup. One thing I'd suggest - if you go with a flat-bottom jon...48" width minimum (1448, 1648, etc)

Hook for Flukes
Rod power/action? I fish weightless flukes on a Fury 703SF - M/F spinning...even keel-weighted up to 1/8oz on that rig.
-
Hook for Flukes
Are you texposing the hook point or burying it deeper in the body of the fluke? That's the first thing I'd check...a 4/0 EWG with a 4" Fluke is a little big - I'd use a 3/0 EWG for that - but you shouldn't be missing that badly.

Crappie Rod
The 6'6" UL/M would be the one to toss really light lures on - 1/32oz jigs or even 1/64oz with a micro-plastic or a Crappie Nibble on it...you need the 'noodleness' to be able to load the rod to cast with ultra-light lures like that. That Procyon would be good for light inline spinners (Mepps, Roostertail to 1/4oz) and slip-bobber fishing to maybe 3/16oz jigs with plastic or Crappie Nibbles on - or put on a #4-#6 hook, a #04 split shot about 8"-10" above that and a chub minnow on the hook. The bobber should be just large enough to keep the jig/minnow suspended...the slightest tug on the hook/jig should send it down.

I Weighed Some of My Rods
Mine is different, but balancing the rod on the scale platform isn't as hard as you think.

Crappie Rod
My three crappie rigs are on 7'0" Okuma Celilo L/MF 7'0" Daiwa Procyon L/F 7'6" Okuma Celilo UL/MF This pretty much lets me cover all the techniques I use in chasing down crappie...from micro jigs with 1" plastics to small cranks to slip-bobber fishing with 1/4oz jigs and 2"-4" plastics. Rods are in the $40 to $75 range.

Glenn puts out quality 'how to' vids...despite other sites putting out similar, his vids are my main go-to for short, succinct, informative vids. Keri's comments are a hoot at times...
