  1. If they don't know the limits, they shouldn't be out. No excuses far as I'm concerned...everyone treated the same.
  2. A good start would be to increase the fines...Currently it's $50 for the first over limit and $25 for each additional. Put it at $100 per fish and put that money into hiring more COs. https://www.mncourts.gov/mncourtsgov/media/scao_library/Statewide Payables/2020-DNR-Payables-List.pdf
  3. A lot of the salt-water guys love it...if that helps.
  4. Like Mike said - different reels with the same gear ratio can have different IPTs. Stating that - it all depends on the main technique I'll be using the reel for...finesse I like a low IPT (my President-25 is 5.2:1 22.4IPT/Avocet RZT-1000 is 5.4:1 22.0IPT) for lipless/squarebills a moderate IPT (Avocet RZT-2000 is 5.4:1 25.0IPT)
  5. I'd never get elected for a couple reasons...I wouldn't take bribes (campaign contributions) from big money and I'd listen to the normal folks.
  6. You running a match-making service now, AJ? ?
  7. Unfortunately most states will just give them the equivalent of a slap on the wrist. We need to get the laws changed to make the punishment more severe.
  8. Best you're gonna get over this side, far as I know, is Sufix Nanobraid - 0.14mm for the 10#...unless you go E-Bay.
  9. X8 is a European label - this side of The Pond you're looking for Sufix 832.
  10. Something like this would work - large size will hold 2 12" units https://www.amazon.com/Electronics-FishFinder-Lowrance-Humminbird-Raymarine/dp/B07D1W1GWZ
  11. Yep - shim needed...that's a classic sign. While I have a preference for the FG - the Alberto and Albright are also good leader knots. Put a drop of super-glue on the knot then trim the tag as close as possible...that'll help.
  12. KK 4 carrier is US made actually Sufix is Taiwan and China made even though owned by Rapala US.
  13. So does Sufix - 832 and 131
  14. I dunno about the standard, but they do make what they call '8X' - so I'm thinking the standard is 4-carrier. https://beyondbraid.com/collections/braided-line
  15. Besides the new boat? Got a flipping stick and a reel for it. Did some pitching with the old Aird-X H/F/Fuego CT-HS...but this year gonna really pound the lily pads and thick milfoil.
  16. Did it seem to hesitate at the top where-as when it hit bottom it immediately started traveling up again? It can be subtle, but that's a sign that a shim is needed. What knot are you using?
  17. One day of warm-up before some cold again, yesterday's high was 6 - already it's 20. Tomorrow and Monday - single digits Then it's back to 20s and even 30s for the rest of the week.
  18. The new version of some Pfluegers have come out, and BPS has the old versions on discount. Supreme for $80 - https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pflueger-supreme-spinning-reel Supreme XT for $100 - https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pflueger-supreme-xt-spinning-reel-1408220742116-1 Difference between old and new - the new doesn't have the anti-reverse switch.
  19. I got my 320 for my 8th birthday...
  20. Yep - that'll work...or just stop into the local hardware store for a new one.
  21. Looks like the spool sits too low - put a shim washer under it...not in the drag-stack, under the spool itself.
  22. They may be heavy, but the old French Mitchells are almost unkillable. I wouldn't mind having one or more of them myself. I miss my old French made Mitchell 320....
  23. Set the drag correctly and 'fight' the fish properly - 3kg is enough for almost any fresh-water fish. I caught my 12# Northern on a reel that had 3kg (7#) max drag and 8# test line.
