  1. Wow! Some great stuff there, Glenn
  2. You can - but you won't use the full length, and it's much more affordable to spool up cheap mono to the point where you only put on 70-80yds of the expensive braid. Also lets you get 2 reels filled with a single 150yd spool of braid instead of just one...so half the cost.
  3. That's not a Johnson model number - should look something like this for an old 8HP (7.5) "8RCI-8RLCI"
  4. His 'in your face' attitude kinda reminds me of Randy 'Macho Man' Savage.
  5. Something like that - he actually used ceiling toggle bolts to hold the wood down...that's why the holes are so large.
  6. Ya - but in the vid you see the holes in the top of the aluminum seats...the foam underneath is crumbling.
  7. Doing some calculations. Based on the capacity rating: 865lbs Subtracting out: 25hp motor, 6gallons of gas, Group 31 deep-cycle battery for TM, Group 24 for electric start/lights/etc, and a TM. I'm left with just over 575lbs for me (195lbs), gear and the planned modifications. If I drop to a 15hp motor - add 20lbs to that. I think I'm good.
  8. I'm easy - either works...if it makes a difference.
  9. Oh don't remind me - my MIL use to give me a pound of whole-bean every Yule. I'd use it sparingly so it'd last until the next Yule.
  10. What ever I have in the house. Though for special occasions, some Caribou Mocha Java.
  11. ^ What he said. Fuego CT-XS on my frog-rod.
  12. Little walk around before I really start tearing this thing to pieces...already removed the wood seat top from the rear. Lots of holes in the original aluminum seat...others are probably just as 'nice'.
  13. Welcome to the dark side - we have cookies. I run 12# YZH on my crankbait rig, 15# on one of my three MH/F BC rigs and 4# on my ML/MF spinning rig. Yes, it's a bit larger diameter than others of the same test - but it breaks higher too...I think they under-rate it on purpose. For FC - I got gifted some 15# Tatsu which is on my MH/F bottom contact rig, and I picked up some InvizX in 6# which I run on my L/F spinning rig and as leader on my ML/F spinning rig. So far I'm enjoying the InvizX...but that Tatsu is a world of difference. Can't afford much of it, but what I have is wonderful.
  14. Sure - have a Minnetonka get together on the water - see what bass (or other) we can find. Sounds like fun Planning on it - already picked out Carpet color - Granite
  15. Once I get this up and running - you and I could rendezvous in Lafayette Bay.
  16. Team Tourney: Winningest Pro - KVD - picks a five man team from MLF Current BASS AOY - Seth Fieder - picks his own team from BASS CWR format, five biggest bass per boat, teams weights add together.
  17. Probably be next spring before it's done...lots to do.
  18. Found a vid of a guy who turned a 14' Starcraft into a Bass Boat...I'll be using most of his ideas in my build.
  19. I pay nothing for my Office - Libre Office is fully MS compatible, and is a freebie.
  20. Ya - still have the occasional backlash on reels. Haven't had one the past couple years that I had to cut out, but it's still time consuming to undo it.
  21. I'm gonna make this look good - little searching and I get replacements for the original stickers for $22
  22. Light levels, food type, even chemicals in the water can cause coloration changes. It's unusual, but not a 'mutation'.
