  1. Evernote is also capable of this - for those of use who don't like Micro-snert.
  2. I've got an older model of this and it's worked great. Between the 12v plug and the inflater end it's not long enough to reach from the truck to the trailer tires...but I can plug it into my MinnKota Power Center on the canoe just as easily and now it's long enough for the trailer. https://www.autozone.com/tire-repair-and-tire-wheel/portable-tire-inflator/p/slime-12-volt-dual-raft-pump-tire-inflator/837627_0_0
  3. Well - just as an example. For my canoe, I've got a 75AH battery that runs my Endura 30, my Striker 7SV, my 8" Galaxy Tablet and my deck camera. The 30 is my main propulsion to get me to places as well as slow cruise around to find structure/cover once I reach a likely spot 30amp draw from the Endura max, add the other things in and it'd be maybe 2 hours max time if I pulled the battery to zero running everything at full. I can be out for a 4-hour trip, come back, and my Power Center box says I'm still at 75% charge...Striker says I have 12.1v...so I'd still be good for a while longer. Note that if your battery is a lead-acid, you don't want it dropping below 50% charge - so 'in use' that 105AH battery actually has 52.5AH usable.
  4. A starting or dual-purpose battery is rated in minutes of reserve. This is for a 25amp draw...so if your TM draws 50amps, divide the reserve time in half. Note this is for fully charged battery.
  5. One MH rod always has either a spinner or chatter on it Another MH always has some type of jig (football, swim, finesse) I think my ML/MF is the only one that always starts with the same lure - lipless...though that might change to a squarebill or Zara Puppy by the end of the day.
  6. I would get a second Group 27 to match the one you already have and wire them parallel. When parallel hooking two batteries, it's best to make them 'twins' - exact same.
  7. That's the Echomaps which come with maps The Strikers don't have maps or even a SD card slot - all mapping is stored internally. Though with the Active Captain app on your phone or tablet, you can upload those to the Garmin Community and others can download them.
  8. I think you get more excited when Lynn is able to join you on a fishing outing though.
  9. Morphologically, pike and bass ARE quite different. Physiologically, they're closer than you might think. They could have done the study on bluegills, walleye, trout - any member of the Teleostei infraclass of fish - and would have come out the same. I'm done with science deniers. Go with the 'old wives tale' if you wish.
  10. Omnia's latest offering Missile Baits 4" D-Bomb - 25pack for 25%off - no code, limited to in stock supplies
  11. I can imagine - I know what fighting a 2#-3# on my Procyon 701LFS is like. A 7#er would really test your skill on a Light rod.
  12. How about a scientific study done just last year that says 'It doesn't help, and may hurt' These findings provide direct scientific evidence that the use of carbonated beverages does not curtail bleeding from gills, which is counter to anecdotal observations made by recreational anglers that use this technique. Overall, our study debunks the assertion that pouring carbonated soft drinks on the gills of injured via recreational angling is a best practice for C&R at least in the context studied here. Although some online forums assert that exposure to CO2 from carbonated beverages would be beneficial for reducing or even eliminating bleeding from the fills of fish, scientific studies suggest that exposure to high environmental CO2 has negative effects on fishes (Perry and Abdallah 2012; Kaya et al. 2016; Tresguerres et al. 2019). https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.15.150797v1.full.pdf
  13. Inline spinners - Mepps #1 and #2, Aglias or Comets. 1/16oz-1/8oz ball jigs with small plastics (1"-2" Mr. Twisters) under slip-bobbers.
  14. Moving baits (spinners, chatters, etc) or heavy cover - I use straight braid. Everything else is either braid-to-leader, straight FC, mono or YZH.
  15. My major in college was Aquatic Biology, and my minor was Organic Chemistry. Thinking about putting even a few drops of an acid into my lungs makes me shudder. Pouring soda over a fishes gills is doing exactly that - carbonic acid and citric acid. So despite anyone saying 'it works, it's fine'...I won't be pouring soda into a fish to stop the bleeding because of my education.
  16. Not lately - things have been a little crazy around here...but I do have a tentative outing scheduled for this Friday Not missing it - still here in MN - probably die here. I think there's a way - but I don't know how...check Garmin's site or maybe some other forums for how to do it The Vivid line replaced the Plus line - I have a Striker Plus - all it added was some new color schemes...otherwise it's the same as what I have.
  17. Garmin Strikers can create contour maps...I do it with my 7CV every time I'm out on the water. They have the 7SV which has down and side-scan.
  18. 1mm: https://www.amazon.com/Cabric-1-0mm-Carbon-Smooth-Washer/dp/B083XMZWFF/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Smooth+Reel+Drag+Washer+DIY&qid=1627953355&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-1 0.8mm: https://www.amazon.com/Cabric-Carbon-Shimano-Smooth-Washer/dp/B083XKXRMZ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Smooth+Reel+Drag+Washer+DIY&qid=1627953355&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-2 They're small sheets (2 per pack), but it was enough to do my spinners with a couple 'oops' thrown in.
  19. Nope - Alpharetta, GA. Dunno about why the sales have been few-and-far-between - maybe COVID is the culprit.
  20. All my spinners are 'loving' the carbon drag. I actually did a test, put 50# braid on the RZT-3000, locked the drag down, hooked my scale to a loop and pulled. Reel was rated at 18# drag with felt washers...got it to 26# before it started slipping...so 44% increase in drag strength. I still set my drags to about 1/3 the test of the line...but as you say, takes fewer turns of the dial to get there...probably not 1/2 as many, but a reduced number anyway.
  21. One thing I did before this season started was to upgrade all my spinners to carbon drag. Pres-25, Pres XT-30, 2 Avocet RZT-1000s, Avocet RZT-2000 and Avocet RZT-3000. Couple different thicknesses of carbon sheets, calipers, compass with etching tip and an X-Acto were all the tools I needed...the balsa was my 'work table' so I didn't cut into my actual work-bench.
  22. I would think it'd be 'Googaning'. (runs for cover)
  23. Since they have two locations now - the second half may be coming from the other location. 'In Stock' just means that one or the other has it on hand.
  24. Stick with the VMC - best cost-to-quality ratio there is. Cheaper hooks are just that.
  25. I've got my tension just a touch looser - maybe 1mm of movement. I too use my thumb a lot with the Fuego - almost all my reels actually. The only one I dare 'forget the thumb' with is my Patriarch...maybe because it has centrifugal and magnetic brakes.
