  1. Question - did you tighten down the drag?
  2. Ya - sounds like a bad AR bearing.
  3. I think you mis-understand Removal of the AR switch means you can't turn the anti-reverse OFF...no more back-spinning of the handle to let out line.
  4. Cig prices vary across the country - some places it's as low as $4-$5...here in the Twin Cities, it's about $9 a pack.
  5. I just worry what the carbonic acid (what you get when carbon dioxide is dissolved in water - you know, the bubbles in soda) does to the very delicate structure of the gills. Yes, there's a small amount of carbonic acid in the lake water, but soda's acidity from this is much higher...PH of less than 4 for most of them. https://www.ada.org/en/~/media/ADA/Public Programs/Files/JADA_The pH of beverages in the United States
  6. A creek channel is the 'remains' of a creek that's under the surface of a reservoir. A creek bed is the bottom of a creek that's still just a creek.
  7. I use my 702SF for drop-shots; but wacky, neko, flukes and weightless worms go on my 703SF.
  8. Love my Fury 704C - MF-F gives me just enough crispness to feel it, and just enough give so I don't rip the hook out on a hard set. It's become my prime jig/T-Rig rod while the Aird-X it 'replaced' is now my prime moving bait rod.
  9. I'm glad I'll still have the opportunity to replenish my Trick Worms, Finesse Worms, Super Flukes, Brush Hogs, Vibe Chunks, Lizards and Fat Alberts when I run low...
  10. Not a first time owner - 2020 I had a Fury 705CB and a Fury 702SF. They impressed me so much that I upgraded from Aird-Xs to Fury 703SF, 703C and 704C. Haven't been out as much as I'd like this year, but I'm still very happy with all my Furys.
  11. My thoughts exactly. Soda is for drinking - Simple Green is for cleaning...don't mix them up.
  12. Air temp was 93 today, but the humidity raised the heat index to 102 Tomorrow they're saying 97 with a 104 heat index. This is NOT normal for Minnesota Add to that - the areas of Extreme and Severe Drought are expanding in the state, while the Moderate and Abnormally Dry areas shrink. Slight chance of rain here in the Metro - same for up in the NW part of the state that's in the Extreme Drought.
  13. I'd use a leader - 8'-10' minimum...primarily for shock absorption. Most standard worm hooks are light-wire - a hard hook-set with straight braid could straighten the hook, losing the fish.
  14. Same here - but I'm a Yo-Zuri Hybrid fan. 12# on my BC crank rig, 4# on my spinning crank rig.
  15. Since they're based here in MN, and 99% of our lakes are natural.....
  16. What type of jig is it? Football, Finesse, Swim, Arky? Each type is for a different cover Some styles of jig come with a bait-keeper. Usually a thin wire with a hook that you embed in the plastic. If you use super-glue, make sure it dries (few seconds) and your skirt should have no problems.
  17. You get use to it... First winter my wife experienced, she was 'I wanna go home'. Now she's 'I never want to leave MN'. She grew up in SE Florida (Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, etc)
  18. Be affordable enough for us budget anglers?
  19. That doesn't bug me - I always thought the IPT on the Supreme was a bit high anyway...main reason I went with the Pres and Pres-XT.
  20. Agree with this - tried small cranks on my ML/F spinning rod and even it was too 'snappy'. So I added a ML/MF spinning rod to my arsenal and it's great for those 1/4oz and under cranks (Flicker Shad 5, Shad Rap 05, Shallow Shad Rap 07, etc)
  21. I had a Lowrance 4" on the canoe - and it was very small, had to lean in to see the screen...might not be as much an issue on a kayak, but I'd still go with the Striker 5CV at a minimum - the downscan is something that changes the whole game. I'm running a 7CV now and it makes all the difference.
  22. Well, considering one of it's closest relatives is the Gar - it's kind of a 'DUH!' thing.
  23. If you texpose the hook, you're not having to punch through...the hook point is right there.
  24. Ya - I'm familiar with the distance. We visited friends a couple times in Olathe - and took a yearly camping jaunt to a private gathering just SW of Leavenworth...that was back in the 90s and early 2000s...haven't been down that way since 2002.
