  1. I never bought into the 'red hooks are the best' hype. All mine are black-nickle...they've worked fine for 50+ years - why change?
  2. I don't know of any MH rods that'll toss a 1.5oz lure...I have one that'll go to 1.25oz - but it's a spinning rod. All the MH casting rods I know of top out at 1oz. Might either have to get two rods, or skip the hard swimbaits.
  3. Whelp - the Llama stumbled. Seth missed the cut-off for tomorrow...I don't think I have anyone in the final.
  4. I haven't noticed any issues using Berkley Chigger Craws - so I'd say no to the interference problem.
  5. Well, this is in the can - let's see if he can win the last tournament of the year.
  6. Being a Trekkie from WAY back - I'd want my UW Drone to be like this one...this is from 2008 BTW.
  7. I'm surprised that any hardware store doesn't have it. Even my little local has quart and gallon sizes of pure acetone...right by the M.E.K, Mineral Spirits, Paint Thinner and Denatured Alcohol.
  8. Don't have an angle grinder, but my table-saw and I are best friends. From 1/8" birch-sheathed plywood to angle-aluminum to 3/8"x1" steel flats...I've cut it all on my little pal...with the appropriate blade of course - I think I got around 10 different style blades hanging by the saw.
  9. ^ What Papa said...reel repair shops occasionally get in reels for repair that they can't get parts for. Having an influx of old reels they could use for parts would help their business. Your non-profit gets some cash, the repair shop replenishes their supply of parts for old reels...win-win.
  10. My GP doc keeps bugging me about it - I'll be hitting 62 this year and have yet to have one. BUT I have yearly oncology appointments for the eye, and the blood-test they do screens for all kinds of things. My Oncology-doc says that if something in that comes up abnormal, then maybe it'd be a good idea to get someone to 'take a look'...till then, I'm good.
  11. Need a better quality mail-person. My gal Kathy does a bang-up job...she's been my USPS mail-person for over 20 years now. This is my BPS Master that I got back in March...still in great shape.
  12. I think the answer should have been, "Given the current schedules, you would have to skip one or the other tournament stop. If the venue changes, then we'll reconsider." Given the rules, that should have been his assumption from the beginning - trying to dance around them is just bad ju-ju.
  13. Well, three of my guys made it to tomorrow - with Seth still in the top-10. Llama rules! No idea - didn't watch, so don't know. Nothing at the tanks apparently, so maybe had problems...
  14. It's not terrible - I strung a second outside box from the inside one a number of years back...50amp GFI breaker as the source from the main.
  15. I've replaced the shower-riser in my tub - had to sweat in the main riser line. Also had to sweat in couplers when I replaced the water-heater...they'd hard-soldered the lines to the old heater. I do all the plumbing and house-electrical work around here...saves me oodles of money.

And we STILL have some of the cheapest gas available. July 12 prices (US dollars per US gallon) - country-wide average USA: $3.49 Australia: $4.36 Japan: $5.30 England: $6.99 https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/ Don't complain too hard - we might end up paying what the rest of the 1st world countries do.
  18. Nothing wrong with long hair (Checks that his ponytail is tied back correctly)
  19. After day 1 5 30 17 82 66 Mueller and DeMarion better pick up their game if they want to fish on Saturday.
  20. ^ This - with only down-scan available to me, I have to 'feel my way' to the weedline.

Our grocery bill has gone up by around 10% since COVID started last year...and of course our SS checks went up by 2%...so we're cutting corners.
  22. Looks like how I use my clips - go past the clip, then come back under it...helps keep the line tight on the spool. Far as type of line - I've got nothing but Pflueger and Mitchell spinners - and 4# mono to 20# braid to 12# FC leaders...they all clip in snug.
  23. Old adage applies... "If it sounds too good to be true, chances are it's not true."
  24. Note for you: Fuegos and Tatulas are known for having a grinding sound...it's normal...mine has had it since out of the box...doesn't affect performance - which is why they didn't 'repair' it.
