What is the best type of scale to use?
Lip-grip - unless you're precise in using the hook, you can damage the fishes gills. I modded my hook to be a lip-grip - changed out the hook for a carabiner that my Rapala grips clip into for weighing.

Trailer tire pressure
Ya - the canoe with everything in it weighs about the same as the empty trailer - bouncing with full tires is contra-indicated. Add to that, I never exceed 35mph and my distance is less than 7 miles max. I don't think it's going to be an issue.

Trailer tire pressure
I keep the trailer tires about 5# under the max rating.

Flipping and pitching vs Punching?
To me - flip and pitch is targeting small holes visible in the weed mats. Punching is putting the weight/bait through the weed mats.

Help me get fishing decriminalized on my local lake
Even if they did - how would they know that the signers aren't visitors to the area and signing for that reason?

Went crappie fishing but the bass ruined my day.
Lakes around the state have received Pike stocking as recently as 2017 - including a number in the metro area. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/fin/stocking.html

That one bait/rig that you don't use but everyone else does
A-Rig for two reasons 1: I don't have a rod/reel combo that can handle it 2: It's illegal here in MN.

When tying any knot...
Got one 7# pike on a spinnerbait - tag looked shorter and the main-run directly above the lure was 'curly'...so it did start pulling the knot out. Retied immediately after releasing the fish to get that tag-length back. This was on YZH, BTW - which is noted for good knot strenth...I've left longer tags since that incident - just because.

Casting Rod Choice Help for Beginners/New Fisher Friends
With the passage of years, things change. New models, upgrades to older models - nothing is static. Maybe once a year Glenn can pin a post where we put in our reviews of gear we've used the previous year? Just thinking out loud.

Help me get fishing decriminalized on my local lake
I signed the petition - but our state enshrined the right to hunt/fish in the constitution. Cities have to prove to the state that restrictions are for 'the common good' - several have tried, none have succeeded. MN Constitution - Article 13 Sec. 12. Preservation of hunting and fishing. Hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of our heritage that shall be forever preserved for the people and shall be managed by law and regulation for the public good.

Winter fishing zoom call series
Someone needs their beauty sleep? No problems, man. I understand what a pain it is to have these things in the middle of the night. Was the same with my sister-in-law when we had family 'meets' as she lived in London.

Ultra Light Trout setup...4lb Trilene XL or 4lb Yo Zuri Hybrid???
Two things about 4#YZH 1: Minus point - It's diameter is about the same as 6# XL 2: Plus point - It's tested breaking strength is just over 8# YZH overall is a good line for it's price-point - I use 12# on my crankbait rig. It does have memory issues, but if you use KVD L&L those can be mostly moderated.

Bass Spawn - Myths that don't go away
1: Lots of info - takes time to assimilate. 2: They're still trying to reboot their brains. ?♂️ 3: Keri is still doing her kitten calls?

Any fans of sharp objects?
I've got one fine blade created by Omega Artworks - it's a Scottish Dirk with bronze pommel and guard, walnut grip, full tang. IIRC: this one is made from high-chromium steel that holds a great edge and hasn't had a spot of corrosion in the 25 years I've owned it. Omega has created props for such shows/movies as ST: Discovery, Heroes Reborn, and others. ( https://www.omegaartworks.com/movies-and-theater.php )

If your spinning rod doesn't have a hook keeper where do you locate yours?
I'm a righty - so shifted all the handles on my spinners to the right side. If you want to keep it a lefty, then 9 O-Clock would be where I'd put it. All my rods are split grip...still want the keeper between the reel and the first guide.

Goooood Pizza
Pappa Murphy's is our close favorite Use to hit up Godfather's - but the one semi-near me closed down - nearest one now is 20+ miles away...through traffic...so an hour-plus to get yummy, greasy pizza.

If your spinning rod doesn't have a hook keeper where do you locate yours?
I not only use Fujis on rods missing the keeper - I also use them on rods that for some strange reason have the keeper behind the reel-seat...wait-what? I put them at the 3 o-clock position when the rod is normally held.

Shakey head weight question
The two shakeys I use are 3/32 and 3/16. With a Zoom Trick Worm, the 3/32 comes in at about 9/32oz total, the 3/16 ends up about 3/8oz total.
