  1. Well, considering bass season is still closed in MN for 27 more days...
  2. Ya - drove me nuts when I was younger considering the close relative of the walleye is the yellow perch.
  3. Soft, absorbent cloth or even a Q-Tip - wipes off plastic and EVA pretty easily.
  4. Reverse sear with some salt, pepper, powdered garlic and rosemary. That's how we did our Yule roast this past year (4.5lb) and the wife and I loved it. No Au Jus....
  5. Some models of reels, the body of the 2500 and 3000 are the same, it's just the spool that's different. Other's, there is a difference in body size - so you can't swap spool sizes on them. I'm not familiar with the Ballistic LT's - so I'm not sure if you can or can't.
  6. I have to agree - my Fuego 8.1 at 33.9IPT is plenty fast enough for the 'short time' pitches I toss into the mess of weeds we have here.
  7. Swap the spinnerbaits for lipless and that's what my 703 is designated for.
  8. Tie a loop at the end of your line - hook the loop on your scale - tighten/loosen the drag until it just starts pulling line at 1/3 the pound-test of the line or 1/3 the max line rating of the rod...whichever is lower. That's your base point...tighten (not too much) if the fish is pulling too much line...remember to loosen it after catching that fish.
  9. (shudders) I hope it works out, man...
  10. Within the week, I'll be shooting a vid going over everything I've done. Once it's edited and uploaded, I'll post the link.
  11. Ahh - if I just say the base model name, it's a BC - if it was spinning, I'd have put the size in there or stated spinning.
  12. Says they still have 11 in stock at that price https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773DMF88/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. Not this little-gray duck. Upgraded Aird-X to Fury for my main bottom-contact rod. Replaced all my steel bullet weights with tungsten.
  14. Occasionally killer deals too - I've got a Pflueger Supreme on it's way from Amazon that I paid $62 for.
  15. With sales, buying used, etc - I've yet to even pay $200 for a full rig...I pinch everywhere.
  16. 19-cents each I'll still do the cross-over O-rings at 14-cents a pair.
  17. Braid has micro-air bubbles trapped in the weaves - it's much more buoyant than mono. FC is slightly more dense than water, so it has a propensity to sink. Only when comparing same line types.
  18. All my canoe rods are 7'0" - my shore-fishing rods are 6'6" That's my crankbait rod - I like a fast action for jerks...the 705CB is a mod-fast.
  19. I'll assume this is for swimbait hooks or T-Rigs...as trailers on chatter/spinnerbaits the hook point is very exposed. Ya, I tex-pose the hook - just skin the point under the plastic.
  20. I'd go with the 703C - it's the one I got for jerks.
  21. Didn't we just have this discussion? Oh right...we did.
  22. Difference between an 8-carrier (832) vs a 4-carrier (PP) From what I hear, the 13-carrier (Sufix 131) is even smoother.
  23. Two O-Rings - crossed over each other does the trick too.
  24. Well, if you don't use Carolina Rigs - then you never have to use swivels. Easy-peasy.
  25. Only time I use a barrel swivel anymore is for a Carolina Rig.
