  1. Hope you're right, Andy. The spool of 15# Tatsu was gifted to me by a member here. Going on my jig/moving bait rig. We'll see how it performs.
  2. Either way is fine with me. Was on a science track in college, so learned Metric enough that converting between that and English is pretty easy.
  3. For me personally - we're talking 2-3 rods to cover those techniques Finesse I'd go ML or maybe M Weightless Senko would be on a M...maybe ML depending on the rod stats T-Rigs I'd run on a M or MH depending on weight Carolina Rigs normally run heavier - so MH I can't see doing all those techniques on a single rod.
  4. Ya - a couple years ago I tried a few different FCs - tossed them all and went mono/YZH. This year, I'll have InvizX on two reels (different #-tests) and Tatsu on one reel (thank you kind sir for sending it to me). We'll see how it goes. Tatsu is really going to have to impress me for me to justify the cost next year...I may go all InvizX - if it performs adequately.
  5. Maybe we should add you to the Fantasy List for this weekend...you'll probably have a bigger bag than any of the 'Pros'.
  6. Real shiners, preserved and dyed...probably go bad quickly once the package seal is broken, just like any other preserved bait. Rather trust this - https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/berkley-gulp!-minnow
  7. Well - I said earlier that I average 35-40 yds - the Fuego I use for lipless says 48yds on this test...I gotta get that extra 8 yds...might be why my Ratlin Raps aren't catching like they should.
  8. Ya - I have a ML/F rig for most of my finesse work and a L/F rig for ultra-finesse For me, I'm pants at skipping with BCs but can skip with spinning rigs easily, so got the MH/F spinning rig to skip jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc...my M/F spinning rig is for skipping lighter stuff.
  9. I use VMC Sinker Stops - haven't had an issue...but the only lines I use stops on are .010"-.013"...dunno about thicker or thinner lines.
  10. I know why I have a MH/F spinning rig...what's your reasoning?
  11. I'd go with another MH. If I took all 12 rigs that I could take on the canoe - 4 are MH/F, even if I only took the 10 that are dedicated to the canoe, 3 are MH/F...it's the most versatile rod.
  12. There's also spots for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - how much of those are fishing related?
  13. On your profile page is a link to 'Edit Profile' the page. (top/right) Down that page is where you can put in your site. You can put it there...anyone looking at your profile will see it in the left column.
  14. Especially when he's currently got several styles of finesse jigs on sale for less or just a bit more than BPS' price. SK or SO - they're the only jigs I buy.
  15. I seems to alternate years. This year it's points west of Warroad...next year it'll be Baudette and points east.
  16. How you learn and practice is the key factor. I was using spinners for a dozen years before I picked up my first BC. I hold the rod with the stem of the reel between my ring-finger and pinkie finger. Index finger not only picks up the line for casting, but I can reach it out to 'feather' the line coming off the spool - works same as thumbing a reel for BC - letting me drop the lure exactly where I want it. I'd have to re-learn how to cast light lures if I switched to BFS - what I know and have 50 or so years practice in doing would have to be tossed aside. Not worth it to me - younger guys may have the time and patience...I don't.
  17. Some of us don't have the money/time/patience to learn a new piece of gear, especially when what we already have does the job.
  18. I disagree with both these - my cast-retrieve time with spinning is about the same with either, and my accuracy with spinning is actually better than with BC. It's all about what you grew up with, IMO.
  19. I think our ice is going to disappear fairly quickly with this coming.
  20. Ya, a fluke in dirty water is asking NOT to get bit. Need something that gives off some vibration...twin-tail grub at the least - craws, paddletails or something similar would be much better.
  21. I rest my case. I've said it before - if I had to go one way or the other, I'd pick spinning over BC.
  22. Nice fish there, Kent...and I think my MH spinning rig could have gotten that beast to the net with a little work.
  23. I only release fish that aren't of eating size - those that are, 1/2 go into my ice-chest. Speak for yourself - I'm totally sane (NO, you may NOT ask the wife about that. )
  24. I just put my fingers in my ears and go "La-la-la-la". Half my arsenal is spinning rigs.
  25. Those who don't want to have spinning gear in their arsenal because of the derogatory appellation of 'fairy wand' that BC hard-core aficionados have applied to a totally valid finesse rig.
