  1. Considering that it's 68 days before Bass Season here in MN opens....ya, I'm still skunked.
  2. Gotta stop going to those late-night raves, man.
  3. Flip a coin, man - doesn't matter to me.
  4. Diawa Ardito Travel Rod - ARDT70MHF-SC 7' MH/F - 5+1 pieces - the 6th piece is an extra handle converting it from casting to spinning Or any of the other Ardito-TR rods which are 3-piece and have 3 casting models and 4 spinning models. $130
  5. Ooo-ooo - can I join? (bounces around excitedly)
  6. First thing to do is track down where the leak is occurring, it may not be at the valve. The valve closes, water pressure in the tank caused by the level is forcing water out somewhere - so you have to find out where.
  7. Depends on the situation when it freezes. When I was taking Limnology class at Bemidji State, we'd go out on the ice in the winter. There was a good size section behind the college that was clear enough to see bottom. We were worried, so drilled a couple test holes...10" of clear ice...which is enough to handle a Land Rover.
  8. Ya - Junior High...which would put it early to mid 70s. Then dad got me a TI-30 when I started High School
  9. Is it bad that I not only remember those but I even had one?
  10. @Delaware Valley Tackle - Mike, care to help this person?
  11. I've been liking Sufix Elite so far - testing out Sufix Advance this year to see how it performs.
  12. The new model Presidents have had a down-turn. As the President XT is just a President with some add-ons, I personally wouldn't go less than a Supreme now-days for a Pflueger spinning reel.
  13. Works good for me - I don't fish weekends...too many idiots in high-powered boats for me to feel comfortable in the canoe.
  14. One of the main reasons I put the outriggers on the canoe. I can stand to not only flip/pitch, but to skip-cast as well. Low gunwale height gives me near the same advantage as a bass boat in that respect. If your Yak is standable-steady, you got those same advantages.
  15. We're lazy here sometimes - this is the one we get...it's actually very good
  16. Lake-Link also has ice thickness reports - again dependent on volunteers to send in the data.
  17. Most toothpaste (not the gel types) have a small amount of silica in them - think of it as micro-sand particles. A soft cloth, a bit of toothpaste, and you polish the metal.
  18. Depends on a few factors Time of year Water temp Water clarity Something I'd toss to increase my chances early in the season when the water is fairly clear and below 55 is different than what I'd toss mid-summer in murky water over 70.
  19. Long as you don't hit their boat...or them...I've never had an issue. People around here are well aware of the law that on a public lake the water, even under their dock, is public.
  20. Ya, you definitely want the heavier worms when skipping. GYCB Senko, Zoom Zlinky, BPS Stik-O, SK Ocho are just a few examples.
  21. Given the sheer number of docks on both North Arm and Phelps Bay, skipping docks could be a full-time job.
  22. I try to skip with a BC and I end up with bird's nests, so all my skipping is done with spinning gear. 7' Medium/Fast with a 2000 reel for lighter baits, including weightless stick-worms. Been doing it enough that I'm pretty accurate with it.
  23. It's one of those things that happen occasionally. A couple of my rods have slight misalignment in the guides...hasn't affected the casting ability. If you can ignore it, just do that.
  24. I don't have any superstitions about fishing.
