What makes you cover or not cover your rods?
Ya, storage compartments are non-existent on a canoe. For transport, I strap them in. Foam under the upper sections as shown, bungee cord across that to hold them down. Foam on top of the handles, a bungee cord to hold that and the handles in place. Once home, there's a rod-rack hanging from the garage ceiling where I store them between trips.

Boat & Trailer Insurance
(raises his hand) It's only a canoe, but the liability insurance is the main part. With a rider on the policy, yes. That's an additional cost. Yep - canoe and trailer together.

Carolina Rig - Whats needed for setup?
Any Senko or clone (Zoom Zlinky, BPS Stik-O, etc), craws, bugs, lizards...pretty much any plastic can be used...just have to figure out what the bass want.

Whopper Plopper 60
Ya, I ordered mine during TW's BF sale - we already had 'hard water'... Why fish micro-plastics on a Ned head, why fish 3" grubs on a drop-shot...same principle - sometimes the bass want something smaller.

Yep Even a craft-bead will work...I raided the wife's craft hoard for a selection. I use 4mm-9mm silver or 4mm-8mm octagonal cut red depending. Ya, you can get them even from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Claw-A8BEAD20R-Plastic-Beads/dp/B0084EGEYK/ref=sr_1_25?crid=1FFYE7XACHILK&dchild=1&keywords=fishing+beads+freshwater&qid=1614779080&sprefix=fishing+beads%2Caps%2C202&sr=8-25 If you're tossing worms, straight-shank offset, if you're tossing bulky baits like a Beaver then go with the EWG 1/2oz would be the lightest I'd use for a C-Rig...I've also got 3/4 and 1oz weights.

Sub 4oz spinning rods
I've found to be more than adequate...it's not an Avid-X or Legend, but it's a decent rod in that price group. Rest of the rig was also 'low cost' - Pflueger Trion-35, 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid line.

Until this year where I'm changing a few things around, it was a my spinning-crankbait rig. This clip shows that it can handle a decent size pike - stupid toothy critter bit off the lure just before I netted it.- Technique Overload

I've never covered my rods - but when I'm not on the water, they're in the garage.- NRA member?
I use to be a member -then they supported things I was diametrically opposed to...so cancelled my membership about 30 years ago.- Sub 4oz spinning rods

And here we go- Do you lock your boat trailer in the lot?
Hitch and coupler - keyed alike by Master Lock- Guess I Need to get the A-Rig Out
Yep - you can do that...but one hook of 5 baits leave the hook-up ratio low. Better to just toss a standard soft-swimbait.- Guess I Need to get the A-Rig Out
I just downloaded and perused the 2021 MN regulations that went into effect yesterday...guess what...they changed it again “Umbrella” style rigs may be used provided only one wire contains hooks. The other wires may include lures/baits but cannot contain hooks"- Fishing In MN March/April
Any panfish...that's what I 'chase' between ice-out and bass opener.- Killer Bullfrog
Ya - they got it wrong It's toads that give you warts.- Why don't we use the term Pitching?
I built myself a 9' fly-rod many years back - all my rod-building equipment was sold soon after...too futzy for me. Besides, the blank and 'good' guides, handle, etc would still be out of my budget.- The best reel brand
Note that while Shimano as a company has been around almost 100 years - they didn't start making fishing reels until the 70s.- What Does Your Dicks Sporting Goods Look Like?
John....just no...please... - Sub 4oz spinning rods
