  1. Throw cushion - then you got a standby if your PFD fails.
  2. Uhh...I would think that you living closer to Minneapolis than I do, you'd have more experience with that sort of thing.
  3. You said the 4th...I said the 12th - I think it'll be somewhere in that range if the weather holds.
  4. Others might have other ideas - this how I'd set them up if it was my arsenal. I'd swap the 7:1 and the 8:1 to start MH with the 7:1 - spinners, chatters, jigs, T-Rigs, crankbaits M with the 6.4:1 - finesse jigs, jerkbaits, weightless worms/flukes (including wacky) H with the 8:1 - Flip/pitch/punch, frogs, heavier topwaters (WP-110+, Super Spooks, etc) The spinning rig can also be used for Ned, drop-shot, Neko...any finesse technique really.
  5. Same here, at least until Sunday when we start having above freezing lows. The rain they're predicting for Tues-Night into Wednesday won't hurt either.
  6. Read my mind, he did. FR702SF, FR703C, FR704C, FR705CB are four of the rods in my arsenal.
  7. Gah - reminds me of a project my Limnology class had back in '79. Weekly water samples taken from half-a-dozen different places on two lakes connected by a channel. We were tracking dissolved oxygen levels. Far as the spreadsheet - I'm that 'anal', but it's more for my personal OCD than anything else.
  8. Well, this should be heading your way
  9. There is that. Even with a rod that weighs 5.5oz, the rig itself with reel only comes in at 11.8. The rig with the only sub 4oz I own (The Stratus) still comes in at 14.36oz...low-end spinning reels weigh more than the low-end casters...always. The total weight of all my rigs runs 10.78oz (1000size spinner on L/F rod) to 14.36oz (Trion-35/Stratus)...my BC rigs fall close to the middle of that range. A couple ounces either side of midpoint really isn't going to affect performance.
  10. Stren is alright...but 8# is way under what I'd use for a C-Rig. 12# minimum is my suggestion.
  11. MN as well - which is why I have one on the canoe
  12. If you can't get hold of the original seller - then Wilderness Systems can send you a 'Certificate of Origin'...that's what you need. Though you might be paying registration based on it being new rather than used...so a bit more for the first registration.

I haven't trimmed any of mine...
  14. E-Mail the seller and have them fill out a Bill of Sale and mail it to you.
  15. I don't know if the self-tinting ones are or aren't. I use clip-ons myself. https://www.amazon.com/Punasi-Polarized-Plastic-Sunglasses-Outdoor/dp/B01C5GF77M/ref=sr_1_28?crid=3V1YW7TODECTX&dchild=1&keywords=clip+on+sunglasses+over+prescription+glasses&qid=1614818857&sprefix=clip+on+sun%2Caps%2C201&sr=8-28 Polarized and UV protection...trust me, you NEED the UV protection more than the polarization - I lost an eye 6 years ago to cancer because I didn't wear UV protection as often as I should have.
  16. Only things I use swivels on are Carolina Rigs and Double Fluke (Donkey) Rigs...even on my panfish combo I direct tie everything.
  17. I've caught more on my 90s than I have on my 130s - bass and pike. Don't have any 75s.
  18. A lot depends on how much you use it - you might want to go with 2 batteries in parallel for more time.
  19. Okuma Reflections - RZ-S-701MLA 7'0" Line: 6#-15# Lure: 1/8-5/8 $75 near everywhere.
  20. I'll be tossing my 60s on spinning gear. New rod arriving tomorrow specifically for light cranks/jerks/topwaters...ML/MF 1/8oz-5/8oz
  21. Well, ya - but I've also been with Met forever...was a junior on the parent's car policy until I went into the AF in 1980 when I split off onto my own policy. House purchase in 1986 started the bundling. When you've been on their 'rolls' for over 40 years with few incidents...they give you 'loyalty' discounts. USAA's best quote for me was 5% over what I pay Met directly.
  22. Believe it or not, USAA couldn't save me anything. I've been with Metropolitan so long I get boocoo discounts since I bundle everything together.
  23. Canoe, trailer, battery, TM and fishfinder...closing in on 2-grand.
