  1. Actually - rounded as is custom, it's only 'The Neighbor of the Beast'
  2. I wasn't going to type out 10,000 '3s'...and even then it wouldn't be 'exact'.
  3. Virgin no more!
  4. 3700 box - each brand/type in it's own compartment Each compartment with a label showing it's weight and depth range
  5. Ya - DRM protection is something that it takes special software to get around...and those programs cost a fair bit of change. It is legal to copy discs for personal use - just don't give copies to friends and definitely don't sell them. It's like the old days when we would copy LPs to tape to take along in the car...legal for personal use. Now it's legal to copy movies you own to put on PCs, Tablets, etc for personal use only...falls under the same rules.
  6. It's usually an inch or less of tag I'm cutting off. It's become my default knot for all terminal connections other than a snell - and there I use the Uni-snell.
  7. I dunno about the line waste - I end up cutting less of a tag tying that one than tying a Palomar on a bare hook, much less a Palomar on something like a 5" jerkbait. It's all in how much of a tag you start with and how you tighten it down.
  8. I'll be testing initially with the 'Multifile Knoten' I've tooted around here. It's very similar to a Uni, and has yet to fail me whether it's been mono, hybrid or braid I've tied with it.
  9. I prefer the paddle-shape...no particular reason but for the fact it's all I've ever had on my spinners dating back to my old Mitchell 320 from the 60s.
  10. Hard swimbait Carolina Rig
  11. Posted this a little bit up - So ya, I wouldn't toss that 1/2oz SK with trailer on a rod rated 3/4 when the total weight of the lure is almost 1oz.
  12. Ya - weighed my 1/2oz Strike King spinners and they came in at .61-.64oz. Now add a 4" Pit Boss trailer at .34 and you're well over 3/4oz. Only spinners I toss on a 3/4 rated rod are my 1/4oz SK Banshees, 3/8 and 1/2 get tossed on the 1oz rated rods
  13. Handbrake I've used it to rip DVDs to my computer. Still have the DVDs in a box...somewhere...so it's perfectly legal - just like copying LPs to tape in the old days. It's open-source, so it's free.
  14. Let me guess - the rod is a Dobyns. Ya, the words on a rod don't matter - it's the line/lure ratings. What Dobyns (and a couple others) call Medium-Heavy, the rest call Medium. To me - a Medium-Heavy is a rod rated up to 1oz, a Heavy to 1-1/4oz or 1-1/2oz. Ya, either go down to 3/8 on that rod, or get a 'real' Medium-Heavy rod (Dobyns 4-power)
  15. Nice pics - can we get descriptions?
  16. Ya - I weighed my rods this winter so I have a total weight (without line) for my combos. Amazing how little spread there is despite the differences.
  17. Well, I just did some weighing of my best producer last season. Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jig - 3/8oz Berkley Pit Boss trailer - 4" Total weight - .70oz/20gm
  18. Time to turn the TV off then. Oh wait - I never turned it on...I'm good.
  19. Buddy...pal...you got a list? (begs)
  20. This is the one I got - larger platform makes it more useful in many circumstances. Even comes with a couple plastic trays to keep things from rolling off. Only $0.16 more. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086YPCYV7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. My question on that is - 'How sensitive is that rod'. In a majority of cases, the more resistant to breakage a rod is, the less sensitive it is. That blank might be great for surf-fishing or deep-sea marlin/sailfish catching, but feeling the bottom on a jig? I dunno.
  22. I'm down to one rig with YZH - 12# on my cranking BC. Some say it floats, but from my observations if it does, it's not as buoyant as nylon-mono...closer to neutral buoyancy, which helps keep crankbaits at proper depths. I'll be trying Tatsu (gifted to me) AbrasX (also gifted) and InvizX this year, see if the 'bad taste' for FC left by my experiments with Vanish and Fluorocast a couple years ago goes away.
  23. This is pretty much standard across all Dobyns lines for the casting rods. Take what the words say and drop it by one power level for the standard rods. 3 - Medium-Heavy - really a Medium 4 - Heavy - really a Medium-Heavy 5 - Mag-Heavy - really a Heavy This breaks when you're getting into the technique specific rods though. Also the spinning line is actually 'accurate' based on the words as they change across spinning/casting types 703SF - labeled Medium 703C - labeled Medium-Heavy So it gets very confusing when you're shopping Dobyns...I ignore the 'words' and just focus on the rating numbers.
  24. Tell ya what...I'll take that snow if you take our cold Current standing air temp: -19 Current wind chill: -35
