  1. This is definitely a do again...
  2. Baby comes first - don't worry it, Mike.
  3. Why not turn it into a grab-bag. Let each one pick what they want so long as they don't take all of one thing.
  4. I've ordered a few rods through Amazon - of course I make sure it's drop-shipped from a reputable seller like Evike...those came in tubes just like from TW.
  5. At one point I had 4 Aird-X's - this next year it'll be down to 2. With the way two-piece rods go together now, I don't think the sensitivity drops all that much as it's blank-blank instead of the old way of a metal ferrule. I was pretty happy with the Aird-X, having M/F Spinning and M/F, MH/F and H/F casting...they did the job, I'm just getting better rods now.
  6. Diawa Aird-X has a few 2-piece rods at about that same price retail - sometimes can find for $49. 6'6" M/F Casting 7'0" MH/F Casting 5'6" UL/F Spinning 6'6" M/F Spinning 7'0" M/F Spinning
  7. Don't get too excited, pal. It's just a one-day ding, then back into the 30s
  8. And my TW order is here too with the second of my four new rods.
  9. Both my Fuego-CTs and three of my Pflueger BCs came off Amazon - arrived in the same condition I'd get them from a shop.
  10. Dobyns Fury 795SB - or any Dobyns rod rated as a Swimbait rod. Diawa DXSB - Diawa's swimbait line...about $100 - you'd only need the MH for that.
  11. And they keep rolling in - Fish USA package...basically more fill-ins.
  12. I've been in the same house since 1986 - I remember these things cause of the ruckus they cause. Ya - and it causes ruckuses all the bloody time...I'd rather it be for a nationwide event like the Elites than any tom-dick-harry who wants to clog up the lake with inconsiderate fishers.
  13. Oh mine get used and abused....that's why I expanded this year into the 1/2 oz....go deeper, young man.
  14. I tried Fireline once...years ago. Gave up and use others instead.
  15. In the 90s they had a 'Top 100' tour - separate from the Elites. Did 'Tonka and IIRC, set three new tour records - including most number of 5-fish limits.
  16. First of the sale purchases just arrived. Pair of 1/4oz spinners to fill in a couple gaps and six 1/2oz spinners This gives me six each of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2oz
  17. I do get the BPS 370 boxes - like them better than the stock Plano boxes as the compartment slots are more customizable than the standard Plano 3700s. You can even create more/smaller compartments which is perfect for my terminal tackle. Only other thing I've ordered from BPS/Cabelas was the Striker Plus 7CV...otherwise I go elsewhere.
  18. Only time I use braid with jigs or T-Rig is if I'm tossing into heavy cover. Otherwise I have been using 12# YZH, but am going to 15# FC next year. Don't need the heavy braid for general jig/T-Rig use. If you're tossing 3/4 oz rigs - make sure you're using a Heavy rod (Diawa/St. Croix heavy, Dobyns 5-power) as for jigs you add the weight of the hook, skirt and trailer to that 3/4, and for T-Rigs the weight of the hook and worm get added...so you're talking over 1oz total most of the time.
  19. There's a number of trailers out there that come in PB&J NetBaits Paca Craw Missile Baits D-Bomb Zoom Super Chunk Jr Probably more...just gotta search around.
  20. At least yours is near you - this is my Fury 704C - still gathering dust in IN.
  21. What's worse is when you chide them for it, and the tail swings wildly and whips it into a froth. Our old dog Sara did that...we called her 'black miasma dog'. (Sara and 'dad' playing tug - circa 1997)
  22. Funny thing is - Dad will still fire up the grill when it's 20-below with a 30-below wind-chill. Grilling is year round at his place.
