  1. My four years in the Air Force was spent in Omaha, NE - got enough snow to not make it seem like an 'alien land', but ya...the wind coming off those flat-lands was brutal. It might get colder here, but the wind is much less so it's not quite as bad.
  2. We got quite a few fields just SE of the Twin Cities here that have dozens of them up.
  3. And I've never spent a winter in my 61 years out of the snow-belt.
  4. I know they did a few Top-100 Tournaments on 'Tonka years ago...and did well. Maybe one day they'll come back up here.
  5. And sandals - I'm still wearing mine to trot out to the mailbox or out the back door for a cig.
  6. CA-80 is an aluminum frame version of the CR/CC/CG 80 reels. They have MagForce, but NOT MagForce-Z braking, so a little less advanced. Smaller spools too - 80 size rather than the 100 size of the Fuego/Tatula.
  7. Tat-CT has two more bearings than the Fuego - both are in the crank-handles. So other than the TWS, internally they're identical.
  8. Ya - highs in the 30s, lows in the 20s here the next week...with a couple days getting into the 40s. No sympathy here either...tough it out, Kent.
  9. It's actually '25 days of Christmas'. Okay - Dec 2 'What's New' vid says it starts the 7th - so next Monday.
  10. I think this Friday - gives them a chance to catch up on the BF weekend orders.
  11. People in Ely - northern MN near the Canadian border - are already doing some bang-up ice fishing.
  12. I knew somehow that you were sinister.
  13. Oh you would put that up after I'm out of money for the year. I got one on my wishlist to replace my Pres-XT.
  14. I'm different - this is what I have on my crank-rig and I've been happy with it.
  15. Central Minnesota is already seeing people out on the ice.
  16. It's where members put up things for sale they don't use anymore. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/18-fishing-flea-market/
  17. 7PM eastern actually - invite was sent yesterday afternoon.
  18. I've got a rod that's been 'Accepted for shipment' since the 27th. Ya, it's going to take some time.
  19. I haul my swim-jigs through some moderately dense milfoil and hydrilla all the time with few hang-ups. Strike King Tour Grade.
  20. 50+ years of fishing - I've yet to break a rod in a vehicle. I've broken a couple while out fishing - wading a stream, trip/slip on a slick rock, rod impacts the bank...that sort of thing. (knock on wood - or my head (not much difference))
  21. Just those is more than I'll spent total this buying-season.
  22. Or if the cover doesn't quite reach the surface - bounce it along the top. That's how I got a few of mine this year with a swim-jig.
  23. That ain't even enough to get the shovel out...a broom will handle that easily...or just wait for it to melt in a couple hours.
  24. If you can get to it - the only open spot I saw was out in the middle.
