Spinning reel under $50 that will last forever and wont have to worry about it fraying line?
Only thing I can think of would be a President - but at the prices now it'd bump over that $50 limit you stated. $59.95 at places like DSG and Sheels.

Minnesota 2020 Fishing Season
I'm heading out to Tonka tomorrow - I'll see where the LMBs are hiding If I catch any that is.

Pitching and punching plastics
Something bulky with some action - Pit Boss and Chigger Craw being my two mainstays.

PowerPro Braid 50lb - Spooling issues?
Okay - I might put 30# on a 4000-size spinner...but that would be my max. I have a 3000 size and if I went to braid...20#...I don't put braid on spinners myself - but to each their own.

PowerPro Braid 50lb - Spooling issues?
Okay - ya - agree with the others. 50# braid on a spinning reel...unless it's a 5000 size I'd avoid that. 20# would be plenty on a spinner - heavier than that, go to a baitcaster.

PowerPro Braid 50lb - Spooling issues?
It's pretty typical with spooling up any line as they all have cutouts of one sort or another on their supply-spools. Just something you have to deal with.

Spinning reel under $50 that will last forever and wont have to worry about it fraying line?
News to me... "In 1990, Johnson Worldwide Associates (JWA) bought the Mitchell Company. The company moved its headquarters and R&D to Marignier, France, where it is still located today." "In 2000, Mitchell was purchased by Pure Fishing as part of the JWA fishing products acquisition. Mitchell continues to sell the Mitchell 300 reel, as well as adding new, innovative products to its successful fishing lineup." https://www.mitchellfishing.com/Mitchell-about-mitchell.html

Ummm - Mitchell is still around. They may be owned by Pure Fishing...but so is Abu, Shakespeare, Berkley, Stren, Pflueger and a number of other names. Mitchell's company headquarters is still based in France though...so that hasn't changed.

Setting up a network
I'm not that qualified to answer. I just know a bit about networking different operating systems together - former Network Specialist for a multi-national. A quick Google Search came up with that link.

Spinning reel under $50 that will last forever and wont have to worry about it fraying line?
If he was after a smaller reel - my Pflueger 640 that I bought in the 70s still works like a champ. After a clean and re-grease/re-oil - it's almost like new.

You ever misplaced any tackle?
He can talk all he wants - can't get blood from a stone (my wallet is full of cobwebs right now).

Side Imaging on Jon Boat Straight to Battery?
Any type of in-line fuse rated 5A - put between the battery positive and positive connection of the sonar. Far as the battery - the 899 draws 1amp of power - that's from the manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/815510/Humminbird-800-Series.html?page=134#manual So to run it for one hour takes 1AH - a 12AH battery will run dry after 12 hours...but never run a battery dry, leave 15% or so - so just over 10 hours. You can get 18-20AH batteries for under $40...and you'll want a charger that's designed for deep cycle batteries - standard auto charger won't work.

I have one 3700 bag of plastics, one 3700 bag of everything else...that's all I got. Nothing hanging around the basement, man-cave or any place else.

Crankbait Rod & Reel - $250 Budget
I've got a Fury 705CB with a Fuego CT-H (6.3:1) mounted on it as my crankbait rig. I'm enjoying it and would recommend that setup to anyone in that budget ball-park.

"Summer, how do I hate thee?"
From the State's Boating Regulation Manual. https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/boatwater/boatingguide.pdf "LIFE JACKETS The following are life jacket requirements in Minnesota: • State law requires children under 10 years old to wear a properly fitted life jacket while a boat is underway. Underway means not securely fastened to a permanent mooring or tied to a dock. • A readily accessible and wearable life jacket is required for each person onboard a boat, this includes canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, paddleboats and waterfowl boats"

Pitching: How?
Shouldn't be any slack before you release your thumb from the spool.

Snap swivels vs tying.
I don't use them at all...I'm pulling jigs and T-Rigs through weeds and the clips/snap-swivels like to collect cabbage. I'm also a lure changer, but I use a knot that I've practiced so that it's quick and easy to tie while still being strong.

UFO's: Are Aliens Among Us?
One reason I avoid Wally-World - I don't want to catch what ever they have.

Best lure color name!
I'm partial to RI's 'Money Shot Green' myself - have it both Little Dipper and Skinny Dipper

New purchase review: Daiwa Fuego CT/H2O Xpress Ethos HD
Nope - Fuego CT has it...change out the standard aperture for the T-Wing, add bearings to the handles and the Fuego becomes the Tatula CT. Same frame, spool, main-gears, etc. That I can fully get behind. I've got 10 rigs, all get the job done, and I spent less than $900 total setting them all up over three years. Don't have to break the bank to get usable gear.

Good baitcaster combo in left hand retrieve
Well, the only real difference between the Fuego and Supreme is the Magforce-Z brakes. The Supreme has standard mag brakes, but an aluminum frame like the Fuego...so a good reel on it's own. The Presidents are carbon-framed, but decently made. It's a budget thing for me...can't afford all high-end reels so get what I can. I'll still take the Presidents over other reels in the same price-range.

I'd have to throw all five of my BCs away then - 2 Fuegos ($100 MSRP when purchased), 1 Supreme (same), 1 President-XT and 1 President. So far, I've been very happy with all of them - and considering I get out a max of once a week for 4 hours, I'm not 'pounding' them like others.

Aird-X MH/F is a good rod...I've got one with a Pflueger Supreme on it.
