  1. Supreme or Supreme XT would be my purchase in that price range.
  2. With a round-ring, the line can slip into where the ends are...and possibly cut the line. With the oval-ring, the ends are along the long side, so slippage is much less a problem.
  3. I went the simple route on all my cranks/jerks. If it had a split-ring already, replaced with Owner Oval ring...no split ring, add an Owner Oval ring. Then just use my regular terminal knot.
  4. I think the estate of Sir Laurence Olivier would have first dibs.
  5. Or canoe...I'll net everything...even a 6" sunnie.
  6. One hand at the stem, other hand at the butt-end. Start your swing at about 8-o'clock instead of 10...and whail it.
  7. Ya, considering there's a couple people here who don't even own a BC, and still flip/pitch and other techniques that most of us use BCs for - it's all a matter of personal preference.
  8. (shrugs) Different styles. I'll toss up to 5/8 on the M/F rig - rod's rated to 3/4. I'll even toss 3/4 oz lures on the MH/M spinning rig - my backup crankbait rig...main one is a BC. I switch between spinning and casting, I've some overlap and just grab one not caring sometimes which type of reel is on the rig.
  9. I'd personally put more on there. My Trion-30 on the Medium/Fast rod, I can bomb a 1/2oz lure about 90-100 yds. As it only holds about 110 yds of the 10# I'm using - that's why I fill it with mainline and no backing.
  10. I find the reverse to be true - I make longer casts with my spinners than with my BCs. So I don't use backing on my spinning reels, just fill it completely with the main-line.
  11. That's probably where the misunderstanding came from. If I'm not a fan of a retailer...I won't purchase from them even if the prices are lower.
  12. Where-as both my Fuegos, all three of my Pflueger BCs and three of my five spinners came from Amazon. Never had an issue with them, and any returns I've done have been processed quickly - usually get my money when UPS picks up the package at the drop-off site...no waiting until it reaches Amazon's return center.
  13. Sounds like a dirty fuel-filter to me.
  14. I always hooked it at the far-forward end of the gill-plate...right under the jaw.
  15. I doubt they've changed much since then, and the latest listing has it at 1750lbs - subtract the weight of the motor, tanked fuel and batteries from that to get it's 'true' capacity. https://phoenixbassboats.com/619-pro/ Also, there (by law) should be a plate someplace on the boat which tells you the capacity - both numbers and weight. If the plate is missing, then they can't sell it...Coast Guard regulation.
  16. I've got two CTs and they've been solid and smooth. The Magforce-Z system is much easier to 'set and forget' than the standard mag-brakes on my Supreme. The LT is the spinning reel - don't know anything about an LT BC
  17. I just use Plymor 2"x2" zip-top bags for small items. I get the ones with the white write-on space and use a Sharpie to mark what's in them. Then they just go into a plain 3700 ProLatch.
  18. I've the 'Zebco' labeled version of that floating around someplace.
  19. Just minor changes here. Wife's and my SS checks keep getting deposited into the account, so no monetary issues out of the norm. Just harder to get a respite worker in to take care of the wife so I can go fishing as they're all 'afraid'. So this year has been REALLY slow on the fishing front.
  20. That's the same unit I got and modded. It's a 'generic' unit that several different companies put their own name on.
  21. It isn't bad - I have a Laguna Medium-Heavy baitcasting rod and while it's not quite up to the Aird-X (which I have a MH as well), it's sufficient.
  22. Only true specialized rod I have of my 10 rigs is a crankbait - Dobyns Fury 705CB - rest of my rigs are multipurpose. You don't need a rig for every technique...learn the techniques, then get the specialized rig if you want to.
  23. I got one with a hook - took that off and added a carabiner than I clip my Rapala grip into when I want to weigh.
  24. Soft judge - or the guy had 'friends'.
