  1. We don't have a shortage here - but I was at the local grocery store yesterday. Clerk told me they had 2 pallets stacked 5' high of TP when she started that morning...by 2pm, the pallets were empty. So ya, the morons are believing what the Fake News is saying. (Course MY idea of fake news might be different than yours.)
  2. Let's see - closest station in Plymouth to me is the Holiday off 494 & Carlson - and that's 15 miles from me. So 2 gallons of gas and 40-50 minutes of time to save .26 a gallon - or $5.20 for a tank, spending $4.28 in gas to get there and back...NAAAA.
  3. Why am I not surprised at that last item? Three guesses, first two don't count.
  4. Agreed - I'm not making any major changes to how I live...maybe a little more aware, but I'm still going out to do errands and such. And in some cases - doing the wrong thing because it's 'expedient'.
  5. Which part - remember I'm out by Wayzata, Orono, etc...the 'rich' areas. NE Metro I know is always lower...but that's a haul from me.
  6. Especially since the various Health Departments around the world have JUST started clinical trials - or are only planning on starting soon...anything else is just 'guesswork'.
  7. The old Sears and Montgomery Wards catalogs were printed on 'newsprint' paper. Now-days, it's all printed on glossy, coated paper...not conducive to the use you've suggested...it'll just smear 'stuff' around.
  8. I know what you mean - my old Ugly Stick UL was a wet noodle. The Spinmatic I'm using now actually has a bit of back-bone to it. I'm very pleased with it - despite it being a 'budget' rod. Which is why I hem-and-haw over upgrading to a Presso.
  9. That's why I've gone to an Ultra-Light rod for Neds as my norm...which based on the ratings is what your rod is. Though mine, as previously mentioned, is a 6'6" - but the same 1/32-1/4 lure rating.
  10. We took a major drop - down to $2.40...which for us lately is a bargain.
  11. I actually have never used a fluke on a chatterbait - or spinner or buzzbait for that matter. What I do use varies based on 'feel' Eco Pro Swing Shad or RI Skinny Dipper - both of which are paddletails I also use Berkley Havoc Pit Boss, Missile D'Stroyer, Strike King Rage Bug, Zoom Ultra Vibe Chunk or Berkley Power Chigger Claw.
  12. Minnesota has the 'Hall of Fame, Master Angler Program'. https://www.fishinghalloffamemn.com/master-anglers/
  13. Not enough to 'immunize' me against the sheer fear mongering of the media.
  14. Okay - I'm weak. Stopped in at DSG yesterday just to check. Hunting section gone, canoes and kayaks moved in there. Fishing section actually expanded a bit. With the closest Cabelas being almost an hour away, BPS three hours away...the 'new and improved' DSG here is the only place with a wide selection. The local bait-shop primarily caters to the walleye/northern crowd - very little bass stuff. So it seems that DSG is once more an option for me. Did pick up a MH/M spinning rod that was on sale - fills out my arsenal for this year.
  15. Ya, but did you notice UL not ML That's the 'odd-ball' part.
  16. Suggestion: Add up the current draw of all your electronics. Multiply by the max number of hours you expect to be out on the lake. For the TM - multiply current draw by number of hours you expect to run it. If you only run it 2 hours for 6 hours on the lake - then use it's current draw times 2 instead of 6 Add the first two numbers. Add 15%-20% - lowest you want to drain your battery to. That'll give you the AH rating you want to shoot for. If you can't find a battery with that AH rating, go for the max you can - subtract 15% and divide by the current draw - that'll give you the number of hours you can be out. For me: .5amps for fishfinder, 2amps for tablet and phone times 5 hours = 12.5ah 30 amps (speed 5) X 1.75 hours for TM = 52.5ah Total is 65ah - +15% = 74.75ah I got a 75ah battery for my canoe.
  17. I'm still bound and determined to catch a fish on a T-Rig...many years of trying with no luck.
  18. My reels are all cleaned, lubed, spooled, and ready to put on their respective rods. This is the 2020 lineup. Baitcasters: All have 10# Big Game backing Left side: 1 - Fuego CT-XS with 50# Power Pro 2 - Fuego CT-H with 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid Right side: 1 - Pflueger Supreme with 30# Power Pro 2 - Pflueger President XT with 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid 3 - Pflueger President with 20# Power Pro Spinners: Left side: 1 - Pflueger Trion-35 with 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid 2 - Pflueger Trion-30 with 10# Stren Clear/Blue Flourescent Right side: 1 - Pflueger President-25 with 8# Suffix Elite Hi-Vis 2 - Pflueger President-20 with 4# Yo-Zuri Hybrid 3 - Mitchell Avocet RZ-2000 with 6# Suffix Elite
  19. I've got 3-90s and a single 110. Last season not only caught LMBs on the 90-Bluegill, also caught a couple Northerns on it. That, a 3/8oz Frog, and a 1/2oz Frog were my main forte' for topwaters last year. This year I'll be trying Spooks and Poppers.
  20. Dude, if I had the money or even the credit... < Flat broke on fixed income.
  21. And the spinning reels are done Left side: 1 - Pflueger Trion-35 with 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid 2 - Pflueger Trion-30 with 10# Stren Clear/Blue Flourescent Right side: 1 - Pflueger President-25 with 8# Suffix Elite Hi-Vis 2 - Pflueger President-20 with 4# Yo-Zuri Hybrid 3 - Mitchell Avocet RZ-2000 with 6# Suffix Elite The Avocet is my shore-fishing rig mainly - stays in the truck for those impromptu trips for an hour or so.
  22. I guess I'm the odd-ball. I do Ned on a 6'6" UL/F rod for the most part. My backup is my general finesse rod which is a 7'0" ML/F. Yes, Ned on UL gear - a 2# LMB on 4# test is such a trip.
  23. Ran an errand that took me past several of the bays and smaller lakes of the Minnetonka 'group'. Ice is already darkening in spots and there's a bit of open water (1'-2') along a number of the shorelines. We may have an early ice-out this year.
