  1. Open Office and Libre Office will both open it - fully compatible with MS Office.
  2. Since I do all the routine maintenance around the house, my wife of almost 30 years isn't too surprised. She even got me a refrigerator magnet that says "The Incredible Mr. Fixit Lives Here."
  3. Is it a finesse technique? Yes. Does it have to be on ML or even L rods? No While occasionally I'll toss a wacky on my ML rig - mostly I stick with the Medium power spinning gear. If I'm tossing it into heavy 'cabbage' I might even move up to my MH spinning rig.
  4. I remember when I had to replace ours. Idiots who installed the previous one did a couple bone-head things. 1) Hard soldered the pipes to the heater - I had to cut those out and install couplings. 2) No shut-off for the natural-gas line at the heater - turned off the main and installed a compression-fitting valve at the heater. Yes, I soldered the new couplings in - dad taught me basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry when I was growing up. Finer wood-working - ran my own part-time cabinet making business back in the 90s.
  5. One thing - air temp doesn't matter...water temp does. Do you know what the water temp is? Takes a while for it to warm up - so it could still be in the 40's below the surface. That's going to determine what the bass are doing, and what types of lures to use.
  6. I've got a couple partial-cork handles, a couple full-cork handles and several full EVA handles. Doesn't really matter to me which is which. Treat with U-40 and you're done. Aside: 'Rescued' an old Diawa 1312 rod from my basement. Probably been sitting in the rafters for a decade or more. Cork looked like 'dog poop', but some sanding and it was good as new again. Checked it over, and it's very usable...backup ML rod now.
  7. Four words for me - French Roast, Sugar, Cream.
  8. Place I worked, we were always cutting steel pipe to custom lengths for the machines we were building. Cutting disk on chop-saw was the way we did it. That's where I got the idea.
  9. I don't even bother using toothed blades when cutting any metal - even aluminum. I got a couple of these for my 10" table-saw. Cheap, makes a clean cut - only downside is having to change blades when I go from metal to wood.
  10. My MIL gets me a pound of it once a year for the wife's and my anniversary - just used the last of it a week ago. Now I gotta wait 3 months for my next 'shipment'.
  11. I'm assuming this is a spinning reel here. All mine have bushings, not bearings - if I need to lube the roller, I pull it all the way off, clean the bushing and the inside of the roller, reassemble loosely, then a scant drop of oil on the bushing before tightening down. I also check to see if the bushing is smooth - you can get crud between the bushing and roller that can 'etch' the bushing - some polishing paper (7000 grit or higher sandpaper) may fix it, or you may need to replace the bushing. I think it'd be the same if you have a bearing in there. Getting it clean is as important as oiling it.
  12. We had low 40s and rain much of the day. Really pounded the snow-pack. Have to see what it did to the ice on the lake the next day or so.
  13. Bait Finesse System - started in Japan.
  14. Send those prices our way. Ran an errand and gas was at 2.19.
  15. Ya, I remember those - such fun (60 here) We had shared desks in my elementary school, and my 'best friend' and I shared one. Of course hiding under a desk with a girl would be a lot more fun now than it was then.
  16. It's gotta be up the line a bit - I talked with the manager of my local grocery store. According to him, the warehouses of both his main suppliers are running out.
  17. I don't live it - but I'm ready for disruptions. 6-5'x10' beds is all I could squeeze into my suburban lot. One is filled with black raspberries for both jam and wine (makes a wonderful Port). 4 has veggies that can well, the last one has a few 'special' treats - wife loves cantaloupe, I love honeydew. Guns/Ammo? Lever-action 30-30, semi-auto 12 gauge, .22 rifle, .22 pistol and a GP-100 in .357 - all with a good amount of ammo. House use to have a well, was capped when city water was put in 40 years ago (before I moved in), but I've had it cleared and hooked to the outside water - I have a manual pump ready to go on it if needed. Water's been tested and it's potable. No room for 'animals'...and the city code prohibits them anyway. There are deer and even wild turkeys that wander about...so there is that. Plus I'm only two blocks from the lake...so fishing is always an option. The fireplace in the house is in the center - not an outside wall - and I have a few cords of wood stashed away and plenty of trees in the area as well.
  18. Missed 70# by THAT much... Congrats Ott for pulling it out.

Ya, I can use my tablet which is in the mount...matter of fact, my profile pic was taken that way with a timer. It does a good job, but I want the video for personal reasons...which is why the pair of Dragons have been added for this year. One will be plugged into the main battery, the second is the 'hat-cam', with a 10,000mAh power pack in my PDF pocket.
  20. Not a darn thing. Break-offs, bitten off - those are unavoidable at times. Carelessly tossing ripped plastic over the side is just neglectful. I keep an empty coffee can in the canoe as my 'trash can'. Everything from unusable plastics to my cigarette butts go in it and thence into the trash at home. I'm not a 'tree-hugger', but I do what I can.
  21. It's not the braid itself - it's the sand/silt/particles that get embedded into the braid. Like sandpaper...it's not the paper that 'cuts'...it's the particles attached to the paper that does it.

Uh - nope...you want 4 qualities Small Reliable Cheap Water Resistant Pick 3 at best - 2 for the most part The main problem with those cases? No audio...or at least SEVERELY muted. --- Saying that - Akaso and Dragon Touch make small, reliable, cheap camera ($50 range) that come with a waterproof case as part of the included package. I have a couple Dragon Touch Vision 3 cameras and they seem to do a decent job. Stay away from the CamPaks...audio even out of the case is horrendous and one I got didn't even work right out of the package - needless to say, it was returned. BTW: The lower cost cameras, you'll need to enhance the audio even if recorded out of the waterproof case - the levels are low.
  23. For the most part...no.
  24. Nothing is 'closed' in MN - just programs being canceled Postponed events Here are events that are postponed at this time: All safety education training, including firearms safety training Deer open houses Elk input meetings in northwest Minnesota Naturalist programs All state parks are open - but you pay the entry fee through the self-serve kiosk located at the gate. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/covid-19.html
  25. I have Folgers Dark Silk - big can Folgers Chocolate/Raspberry - 12oz pack Caribou Mahogany - 12oz pack Caribou Mocha - 12oz pack I think I'm good for a bit (I like Caribou because A: More selections than Starbucks and B: It's a Minnesota company.)
