  1. I get this or "Might be restricted" message with every reel you post, Andy....might want to check that.
  2. Please tell me you didn't go there. 😾 Yes, I've tried them both 'naked'.....KVD DID make a difference IMO.
  3. Scheels is right up front saying that their name-branded reels are actually Daiwas.
  4. Miravel for finesse, Ultegra for power - ya, Shimano runs two different lines of spinning reels. I have both and am very happy with them.
  5. Well, we officially got 9.5" near me....but the road crews were out most of the time and we can get places. Neighbor dug out the Jetta and will finish the driveway/sidewalks today...I'm in good shape. Have fun, Andy.
  6. I've narrowed down to two... Seaguar Smackdown for 15# and higher - casting, mid-range spinning (shaky, free-rig, etc) Sufix Revolve for 10# and under - finesse spinning.
  7. Like Dwight said...take your time to figure things out. Don't jump right into something that might be regretful later.
  8. ^ Maybe we're charter members of "Braid Anonymous" - I'm the same.
  9. ^ With the BassTrack lead he's got with almost 1/2 the day over....do you blame them?
  10. Tatsu or InvizX is all I'll use.....both are very good and forgiving....don't forget the KVD L&L
  11. How I work it is to put a measured amount (65-75yds) of my mainline on, fill with backing, then reverse it all....then I got a set amount of mainline and the backing is never replaced after that.
  12. Scheels pre-season sale....ALL line is 20%off.
  13. I'll be putting up a couple St Croix Victorys for sale in a week or two....at a discount, and the warranty is transferable.
  14. How well does it handle 'Death Metal'?
  15. I tried watching it yesterday, but the repetitive proselytizing turned me off.
  16. If you change your mind on getting that beast running - this is where I get the parts for my '73 E-Start 25hp Evinrude. https://www.boats.net/search
  17. And it's getting worse - they've upped the expected amount for my area to 12"-18" and are issuing blizzard warnings for spots within 30 miles of me.
  18. I tried a spool of 10# as leader material. It is better than Vanish, but that's not saying much....it followed the Vanish I tried into the trash..
  19. Peacock bass are in the family "Cichlidae" who's members include aquarium Angelfish. They're not part of the sunfish family at all. Peacock close relative.....
  20. Cussing is filtered.... As CbF said....just stop logging in and fade into the woodwork. Re: the vid link....all bass are sunfish, but not all sunfish are bass...and no @gim , I don't want the schpeal on 'Rock Bass' (again)...they're a sunfish despite the name. <- College major was Aquatic Biology.
  21. Nope - it screws up the database....you're here at least in name forever.
  22. Looks a lot like the vest I wore when fly-fishing via wading. lots of gear to take with, and no handy boat/canoe/kayak to help out.
  23. I'm doing better - one of my guys is Easton.....
  24. We need to find a wooden ship with lots of barnacles, then keel-haul him several rounds.
  25. Questions are not an issue - that's why us electrical guys are here. Given the colors in the area, I would say the yellow/red stripe is your hot-lead and the black is your ground. If you can disconnect one end close to that spot - then FFF's sugestion of heat-shrink is doable - but not the plain black stuff for marine wiring....get the waterproof stuff If you can't find an end close - get the waterproof butt-splices, cut and reconnect....electrical tape is not gonna be good enough for the long-term.
