  1. There's two different line ups in the Shimano groups Coresolid is the 'power' line up, and includes the Ultegra and Stradic MGL is their 'finesse' line up, and includes the Miravel and Vanford. It's natural that the Miravel and Stradic feel different as they're engineered for different uses.
  2. I had to get my fix with the r/bassfishing Sub-Reddit
  3. Just think, Chris....a few years and you'll be re-living all those good times with your grand-daughter.
  4. I have to agree with Eric on brakes - the Fuego has the Magforce-Z while the CA-80 has the 'plain' Magforce.
  5. Well, Seth almost made it into today - but my other MN boy did good....Austin in 2nd place for the tourney isn't bad.
  6. Unless you did something real bad, it should show up before too long...depending on when a mod logs-on and looks it over. I've lost count of how many of my posts had to wait for moderator approval before showing up...it's just something that happens now and then.
  7. Weigh-in is running late...anyone know why?
  8. Start here - https://www.in-fisherman.com/editorial/cleaning-fish/156659
  9. Best Friday of the year for me - 4 going out tomorrow with 1 in the top ten and 2 in shooting distance...just gotta kick G-Man in the tuckus to get him moving.
  10. Tried the Palomar once...hated it...too finicky. Knot I use for all my terminal connections is the MK
  11. Don't forget to keep their environment moist - not drenched, but damp. And feed them used coffee grounds, wilted lettuce, orange peels...any vegetable matter that's not spicy (no peppers, garlic, things like that)...but don't overfeed either.
  12. Funny thing - their ex-drummer Steve Gorman is the morning host on KQRS - a local station here.
  13. Daiwa has parts diagrams https://daiwa.us/pages/parts-diagram-owners-manuals
  14. Works great even for smaller baits/hooks...like a Tiny Brush Hog on a #6 EWG when drop-shotting for crappie. I got a 160yd spool of Berkley Outcast ($3.99 at Amazon currently) specifically for this when I first watched this vid a few years ago....still have about half the spool.
  15. I've got my Miravel 1000 on a Daiwa Procyon L/F for the same purpose.
  16. Nope....I've got an Ultegra 1000 and it's the same size as my Avocet RZT 1000, so the sizes line up...a 2000s is a 2500 body with a shallow spool
  17. Something you people in the middle-upper 'Mitten' have only a passing knowledge of.
  18. Definitely stopping at one of my shore spots on the way home from a visit with my oncologist. Sunny and mid 50s is the forecast. See if the largemouths have started moving into the shallower weeds as they warm up faster than the main lake.
  19. Always good info, Glen...and you're right. A 7' MH/F is the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods...I've got 3 casting (7'0"-7'3") and 1 spinning in that myself
  20. For spinning reels, I get a 1/4# spool of Zebco Cajun in 6# test to use as backing. That gives you 1850yds, plenty for multiple reels. It's only $9.49 at Fleet Farm https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/zebco-cajun-smooth-cast-low-vis-quarter-pound-spool/0000000294339
  21. Those in states with a lead ban are gonna have to go with steel. Me? As infrequently as I use worm-weights, I think I got enough tungsten to last me a lifetime (my lifetime anyway)
  22. Having been transformed (via cancer and an ankle wound that doesn't want to heal) into a primarily shore-fisherman, I picked up a Frabill Tangle Free Folding Net. It packs well, but opens into a decent size net with a 40" reach. I have used it on the boat, which sits up higher than a bass boat, without issue. https://www.frabill.com/collections/folding-nets/products/tangle-free-folding-net
  23. Clayton - you been sampling some confiscated evidence?
  24. Also check on Tatula CT spools....they're identical to Fuego CT...only difference between the reels is the T-Wing on the Tatula....
  25. I might hit one of my shore spots Friday after my oncology appointment.
