  1. Welcome, welcome....and yes, when I order from Digitaka I usually have the reel in my hand in 3-4 days...that's better than most US based stores.
  2. Looks like our extended season is continuing - forecast is for 50s and 60s through next Monday at least.
  3. Nope - it's just a thing with me...also while I might tend towards a certain color before I launch, on-the-water conditions might change what color/style I'd use. So then I'd have to take the pre-rigged plastic off, put it back in it's proper bag, then dig out the one I'm actually going to use.
  4. Yep - plastics don't go on until I'm ready to toss the lure in the water.
  5. I would have skipped the catfish and just broiled up the skipjack....I'm not a catfish fan, but tuna is always good.
  6. Oooo....I see that @JohnFromLisbon is back...what's up, man - how's the fishing been across 'The Pond'?
  7. @papajoe222 - you're not giving me any hope here, man. I've only had 34 years of study and I'm still on page 1....it's so confusing.
  8. Personally, I like a short/XF rod for jerks....I'm running a Victory 6'8" M/XF for my jerkbaits I know some like a MF action for jerks....while the jerk rod KVD designed for Lews is a MH/F I think pretty much anything will do, long as you can get the cadence down and don't set the hook too hard with the heavier rod so you don't pull out or straighten hooks.
  9. All depends on the tackle I'm using and where. Finesse - slight sweep and reel set. Cranks/Jerks - Maybe a 2 or 3 on the 'swing scale'. Jigs - up to a 5-6 for the stouter hooks. Frogs - 4...maybe a 5. Pitch/Punch - swing like I'm trying to put one over the 'Green Monster'.
  10. Owner Flashy Swimmer Reaction Tackle Weighted Underspin Harmony Tackle Razor Series Underspin.
  11. Joe, you gotta stop talking about yourself that way....jeez man....
  12. I'm just wondering how many fish made it back into the water alive.
  13. Lightly tap the transom with a hammer....if it sounds hollow, there's probably rot under the 'glass', and give it a hard pass. Check for cracks along the seams - main places are where the transom joins the main hull...another pass here. Look for affordable aluminum boats...even an old 3-seat fishing boat will get you on the water. Course if you're handy, you can convert it too. I'm also on SSI and using a bit of spare money I turned one of the above into this.
  14. @Koz
  15. Technically it is....it's not like it's multiple strands twisted or woven together like thread, string, rope or (gasp) braid. We made nylon in college chemistry class, and it's lots of fine filaments that bond together to create the 'monofilament' that we all know. It is a 'monofilament' as you really can't separate them. Just that everyone is use to calling Nylon line 'mono', where-as in reality it's also a bonded bunch of filaments.
  16. ya...most hybrids are just nylon with a coating of flouro, YZH goes that extra step.
  17. It's when a rocker gets brainwashed....happens sometimes. Need to listen to decent music
  18. Ummm...LMB season is open until Feb 23 - just like Walleye and Northern. SMB went C&R only on Sept 9 until Feb 23, then closed like the rest. The way it's going, we might have ice-out before the season closes.
  19. I think my two best colors in my faved Pit Boss are Skeet's Chartreuse Shad Green Haze Last good color I think is mainstream Senko (or equivalent) in Green Pumpkin w/Black Flake.
  20. Just be prepared for the problem, Katie...big head on little body will give you 'such a crick in the neck'
  21. Keeps going like this and I might still be shore fishing on my B-Day - 35 days and counting.
