Ok - Dutch then (I'm range limited)...or Whaletail, though that one is mostly shallows and chock full of panfish - not much in the way of bass.

A different perspective
Technically Antartica would be as well....and Africa if you consider the Suez Canal as 'splitting' it from Eurasia.

I got taught that back in grade school - what are they teaching kids now-a-days? Always been a continent - Greenland has always been the biggest island...another thing learned 50+ years ago - reference 'teaching' above.

2024 Minnesota Season Thread
Gim is of the opinion that it's more boring than sitting and watching paint dry or grass grow.

Post a photo a day!
Do vids count as photos? Well, it IS a sequence of photos. Anyway...shore fishing yesterday and I got a clip of mama and kids having lunch.

Texas Rigged...Wacky Rig. Ever try this?
The times I've used it, it comes through Hydrilla and Milfoil well enough...only thing that seems to clog it up is Filamentous Algae...but I've yet to find a lure that isn't fouled by that stuff.

Sounds like a good day down there, neighbor. Once I get Bass Trek in the water, maybe duo-boat it on Tonka sometime....perhaps get @gimruis and @Deephaven to make it a flotilla.

Beginner tackle box
Read this Ya - it's only one technique, but it's a very good start.

Fluorocarbon and braid knot question.
Ya - I found the MK knot a few years ago and have been using that for terminal knots since. Line to line connections - Uni-Uni for backing to mainline; FG for mainline to leader when prepping, Alberto for mainline to leader if I have to do it on the water.

Spinning reel fluorocarbon
Until I went braid to leader I ran 8# InvizX on a 2500 size reel. Long as you treat it with KVD or another 'quality' line treatment it performed very well.

Spinning reel fluorocarbon
10# is right at the diameter limit for a 2500/3000 spinning reel, and given FC's more stiff nature, I think you'll have issues with it jumping off the spool...I agree with Phish about braid to leader for that situation - or go mono or drop to 8# FC. Limpest FC I know of is Tatsu, with 2nd place going to InvizX if you insist on 10# FC on the spinning rig.

2018 Shimano Aldebaran MGL & 2022 Aldebaran BFS - Frame Material
Hagane isn't a material - it's a design concept HAGANE is Shimano's reel design concept which aims at “eternally smooth reeling.” https://fish.shimano.com/tr-TR/content/c/Shimano-Fishing-reel-technology-benefits.html To directly answer the question - probably Magnesium for the weight reduction over aluminum...as either can be used in the HAGANE concept. "The Hagane body is made of highly rigid metals such as aluminum and magnesium." IBID

NEW G Loomis GLX just dropped!
The 902c would be 1" longer, the 852c would be 4" shorter - so the 902 would be closer to the 892 in 'feel' - 1st two numbers are the length in inches, 3rd number is the power.

How to fix?
It's new trailer time.

Where do you rank on the Angling Tech Scale (ATS) and why?
My lack of FFS and Spot Lock is due to finances....not a lack of wanting.

Where do you rank on the Angling Tech Scale (ATS) and why?

Where do you rank on the Angling Tech Scale (ATS) and why?
I dunno - 5-6 Decked boat, couple of sonar units - but no FFS and no Spot-Lock on the TM

wrap or not
Are you talking just 'gluing' the guide with the epoxy finish? Nope - the thread wrapping is what does the majority of the holding - the epoxy finish is mainly there to protect the thread...it doesn't supply much in the way of holding the guide to the rod.

Braid - How thin is too thin?
20# 832 was a bit too thin on my reels, but 30# works just fine...just make sure to spool it tight and re-tighten it every so often.
