Had been using Owner Blockheads but some baits still liked to fall over - Reaction Tackle's Warlock heads seem to stand up better so I've mainly switched to those. I've also done some testing for Allen (Munkin) on Ned heads he's casted up...so far they're working quite well.

Lews Baitcaster Reels - Why So Many Models

Frog rod under $150
Man after my own heart - my frog rig is a Daiwa Fuego CT-XS on an Aird-X H/F - under $150 for the whole rig. Until I got my Fury 765FLIP - this was also my pitch/punch rig.

Can you damage gears by tightening the drag and pulling a snag?
Even on my 10# Braid to 8# FC leader I use the dowel method...better safe than sorry.

Can you damage gears by tightening the drag and pulling a snag?
If you're talking diameter - no....braid diameter equal to 10# mono is 30# braid. Personally - I never use the rod/reel to pull free from snags...I use the wooden dowel method - always.

Q + Q! AMENDED WITH MORE PHOTOS
I'm not Tim - but chucking and winding is when you concentrate on nothing but moving baits...spinners, chatters, cranks, etc....you toss it out, wind it in, rinse and repeat. Sounds like you're having a grand-ole-time, Katie...and I've yet to get Bass Trek in the water.

Trying to pull free a snag with just the rod and reel?

Lake fees?
I find it strange that there are lakes that charge a 'launch fee' anytime you want to use it. Like @gimruis said - our public lakes are maintained by the state and the launch ramps are free to use on a first-come/first served basis. Only possible fee is a yearly trailer pass that's $50 for Three Rivers Park District, but allows you to launch at any Three Rivers Park if parking space for the vehicle/trailer is available...first come/first served again. Of course that's only if you use a Ramp at one of the parks...as Lake Minnetonka has over half-a-dozen non-park ramps, it's hardly an issue.

Multiple Fishfinders on One Battery, Recommendation?
Let's look at the stats The 126's nominal draw is 3amps The 106's nominal draw is 2.8amps So total draw is 8.8amps Time 8 hours is 70.4amps Times 2 days is 140.8amps If you're running Lithium - you'd need a 150ah battery for two days, or a 75ah battery for one day.

SPF light fishing pants?
And don't forget those sunglasses - don't want to end up like me and lose depth perception and peripheral vision to one side....or maybe both sides.

5 rods to do just about everything.
I'm with Casts - that pad layout would make me reach for my H/F for frogs or my pitching rod (XH/F) if I was flipping/pitching into that. 50# braid minimum.
-
5 rods to do just about everything.
If you're flipping/pitching with it....go longer. Rod power doesn't change based on line - rod power remains the same.

5 rods to do just about everything.
2 are 7'0", 1 is 7'1" and 1 is 7'3"

5 rods to do just about everything.
Ya - MH/F is the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods - can't do everything, but does quite a few things well. Of my 12 Casting rods - 4 are MH/F....

Bobber Fishing
They've been liking this one lately Z-Man Tiny Tickler in Pink....why pink? I dunno, but they attack it voraciously...and being Elaztech, it makes Gulp look flimsy. I'm still on the first one of the bag after four trips, a few dozen sunnies/crappies....and several put in the freezer. I just dig up worms in the garden and have a worm-farm running in my basement...can't remember the last time I paid for live bait.

Bobber Fishing
Yep - thread the worm on the hook - the bigger worms either use a bigger hook or cut the worm in half.

New Video - Choosing the right colors for every condition
If you put the lovely Keri in front of the camera instead of your 'ugly mug' maybe you'll get more views.

New Video - Choosing the right colors for every condition
Definitely follow the K.I.S.S. principle....again with the good info, Glenn.

I finally did it!
I'll see you and raise you 25 - never past the barb in over 50 years of fishing. It's called being aware and careful...but I still carry the tools needed and a med-kit 'just in case'.

5 rods to do just about everything.
I would leave the leader on the M/F Spinning rig for light trebles....you want the 'give' that Mono or FC will give you to keep them hooked. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

A Slew of Slabs
Echoing RoadWarrior - keep them coming Katie!

Mono
Cause in actuality, it's a Hybrid - "Sufix® Advance™ Monofilament is a combination of HMPE and Hyper Copolymer™" I like Siege as well if I'm gonna use a Mono.

A different perspective
I remember summer vacation in Kennebunkport...that was fun. When I live in MA, we'd cycle through Cape Cod, Lake Winnipesaukee and Kennebunkport for our summer vacations...so once every 3 years we'd hit each.

Looks like my fishing is going to be limited for awhile
That's a bummer, Allen - I hope the VA actually gets off their arses and does something to help. Good thoughts coming your way....

Fishing License Question.
Could be like MN - ours expire Feb 28 (29)...if you purchase a license on Feb 27, it expires the next day (or two days)...can't purchase the next season's license until March 1.
