  1. Daiwa steez ct sv. In all seriousness, it’s the reel I put in my 9 year olds hand again while trying to get him to love fishing and it just clicked. He now loves throwing a 6’6 loomis around with one like a sword at docks. It’s a ridiculous price to pay (pink one is mine) but it’s worth it if I can summon the magic to make them love the sport
  2. I figured it out. $5 zebco hot cast with a budget reel.
  3. Think 5 year old. My daughter just isn't ready to move from a spin cast reel. I'm looking to buy a few setups that have decent, at least metal gear spin cast reels and a decent rod. I'd like to upgrade from the $30 combo that literally will fall apart if a 1lb bass eats their bait. A couple questions. Does a spin cast reel fit normally on a spinning or casting rod? Recommendations on a rod that is 5ft or less that has some quality? any casting rods 5 ft or less, 2 power? Any recommendation on a decent spin cast reel?
  4. They are expensive and I’m trying to get that for less than $700. I paid $350 for all of mine
  5. These are the absolute best. I have 3 previous version CT’s, two with the 90mm steez a paddle handle and one with a 100mm paddle handle.
  6. I have the new alphas which I’m pretty sure the new tatula sv 70 is the same frame and reel which just a single bearing supported pinion. I’m not a fan of the boost spool in the zillion for things like pitching as I prefer the sv control. Do you think the new tatula 70 and alpahas 70 has enough power/durability to handle something like punching ?
  7. Looking for a reel that’s small in size, has the sv spool and can handle punching and frogging. I prefer more of the steez ct size than the tatulla. The handle can be upgraded.
  8. I’ve gained a ton of confidence pitch ringed ewg Texas rigs into brush with a 3/16, 1/4 & 3/8 ounces pegged ringed hook. I’m wonder if there’s anybody doing it with heavier weights up to 3/4, 1oz or even higher?
  9. Funny, I run 40lb braid to 20lb leader on my conquest 842c. That blank is a monster
  10. This sounds cool, I really enjoy the short rods As someone who is considering buying the conquest 844 I can’t help but wonder if this rod does very similar things
  11. Let's hear it, what are your greatest of all times, that one that maybe isn't made anymore or that one that is just right for what you use it for. What's the one rod you could never give up or get it back if you could.
  12. Sv reel and a loomis 783c Mbr. They make. Gcx Mbr if you want to go thank direction
  13. Does anybody have any weight comparison between similar gcx models and nrx/ conquest ?
  14. Conquest 783c with a steez ct sv… A five inch senko doesn’t skip well on even that combo. Sure, you can cast it at Lilly pads but when you need to get it where others can’t it’s difficult without the weight of bigger than five inch senko
  15. For the most part the five inch will get more bites than the six inch. With that said, the six inch is much more forgiving on casting gear and getting into tough spots while skipping. Has anybody messed with cutting the six inch down to have a slightly smaller presentation such has 5.5 inch. Which end would you cut? Thoughts ?
  16. When fishing a weightless whacky senko How thick of a line does it take to impact the fall? think tatsu line diameters. Do you think there’s much of a difference in the infamous senko wobble with 12, 15 or even 20lb line? Fishing braid to leader with a 6 ft leader.
  17. Sold my three 2020 Mets for steez’S
  18. What keeper is on the siebert? This looks like a sweet jig, does anyone else have any experience with these ?
