  1. I’m excited to add the steez power pitch to the family. It certainly looks to be a powerful rod from doing the bend test. I’m surprised how well it balances with a 5.5oz reel that has no line on it.
  2. im going to buy a spool of silent flip from courtlsnd. It would be nice if you could find it for any less than the $38,99
  3. It’d be worth it if tw actually sold a t shirt that wasn’t a piece of cardboard. They should take a look a Omnia’s shirts if they want people walking around marketing for them. I keep a TW shirt in the bag in case someone on the boat needs emergency tp. I don’t regularly sleep in a t shirt but when I do it’s an Omnia t shirt.
  4. Great thread. I think one common theme looking through here is that lures with sound certainly fade out. Maybe we aren’t giving the bass really enough credit. I’ve read some articles that continue to embrace the theory that sound is so critically important. There’s a reason soft plastics get it done and maybe the fact that they are silent is that reason. for me. Glide baits dark sleepers on all but one day
  5. Sounds like we’re down to suffix 131 or cortland silent braid. Doesn’t seem many have used both.
  6. Quarto is not the smoothest, it designed that way. I’ve fished 50-80lb Smackdown, X9 & Fins infinity braid. I’m just looking for alternatives to them and if the alternatives are any better than those.
  7. Has anybody fishing both 131 and cortland silent braid ?
  8. Is cortlands 50lb silent braid strong enough for frogging ? I have used power pro max Quattro in 50lb for frogging and it hasn’t let me down. I ask because for example find 50lb in some lines is incredibly thin, something I wouldn’t feel awesome about frogging on. this line is going on the 7’2 heavy steez power pitch that will get Texas rigs in slop and light frogging duty.
  9. I’m looking for some quiet braid that can double for heavy flipping and light frogging. I frequent a lot of 4/5 strand for most vegetation fishing but they are loud. I’ll be throwing some moving baits on this. considering 131 right now. Im a big smack down guy but for some reason can’t get over the silver line. Any other special braids out there ?
  10. What was the discount for bait etc. What site ?
  11. Find me a 7 ratio left for anywhere around there and I’ll buy it ? I wish I could find one ?
  12. Does anyone know if the new steez a is bigger or smaller than the zillion?
  13. Thanks , you say the steez is a different profile. Does that mean bigger/smaller ? Narrower/wider ?
  14. CTs are great. I skip docks and throw them on moving baits on my 844. They just don’t have the line capability for bigger braid and flouro
  15. I know the zillion has been covered a million times but I’m considering the steez a II. I’m trying to figure out what I’m getting for the extra $300. They weigh the same They are both aluminum Both have the hyperdrive system steez A II has slightly more line capacity and mag seal. What am I missing ? I have four Steez sv ct tw’s but they are unique. I’m trying to figure out what’s special here. smoother ? Smoother than the smooth zillion?
  16. I’m not here to be daiwa fan boy but try comparing this to an 893 or 894 NRX. You need a brick reel to balance them. I found that the overall steez package weighed less than my 893/894 because the difference between a 7.2 and 6.1 oz reel.
  17. I flip with the CT all the time with a 100mm power handle. The CT is my favorite reel. I have no problem throwing a 1/2 jig or total up to close to 3/4 on the CT. To me, the problem isn’t the CT but rather the 893c. While I’ve never had a ct on an 893 I have had an aldebaran, curado 70, metanium and a bantam. The 893 felt the best with the bantam because it’s tip heavy otherwise. To me, if you really want to throw the ct on the 893 then you need a butt weight of some kind
  18. Everyone lies about how much lighter they are. So, new reel seat, same guide train? Anything else different ?
  19. Id be getting that 6’9 h if they had it with cork
  20. I’m interested to know from anybody who has fished both the differences in techniques, rod power & action. I’m not worried about the weight and sensitivity aspects. I have the adrena which is quite versatile but am considering trading one out for the other.
  21. Conquest Mbr is better feeling than the NRX imo
  22. I have the 783C and Two 844’s, they are all amazing rods but that 783c always finds a way into my hands. It’s a dock skipping machine. It’s also just great at about everything under a 1/2 ounce. Put a light reel on the 783c and it’s like a toy from a weight standpoint
  23. Still looking for opinions on this. The visual of the straight braid vs leader but line diameter differences and no connection knot
  24. Same reel handle from plat was $60 as compared to $30s from TT
